The Official Fat Wreck Preorder Thread
KnowNothing replied to thebiglebowski's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Anybody else only have 2-day priority shipping for the bundle? I knew it wouldn't be media mail with the t shirt, but I thought it was weird there was only one option... -
A couple of years ago I got The Pink Floyd Collection off of ebay. It had the studio albums up to The Wall, with Piper and Saucerful omitted in favor of A Nice Pair. Definitely worth looking up if you want a large hunk of the collection right off the bat. All the albums are housed in a Wall style box and sound great. Not 180 gram, but still nice clean copies. That being said, I can't wait to pick up Piper, Saucerful, The Final Cut, and Momentary Lapse to complete my collection. Would also love a pressing of Relics.

Hole - Live through this vinyl reissue
KnowNothing replied to Vinyl_junkie's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Some of the best stuff Kurt ever wrote! In all seriousness though, really great album that holds up well today. Due to escalating prices (and the added expenses of three kids in sports) I've had to cut down on my purchases. Might have to pick this one up though... -
I'd love to see some of the old garage rock bands get some represses. The Humpers, New Bomb Turks, Gas Huffer, The Red Aunts... I never really appreciated them back in the day, but they've all grown on me lately. I'm sure the original presses didn't sell great and sat for years, but now that they're not available I want them for some reason... weird.

Was about to order the swirl, till i saw the only shipping option was $9.... -
I know the white and gold is the much rarer of the two, but the black and gold looks so much nicer. Course, that might be because I'm a Pittsburgh fan...Anyhow I missed out on the screen printed "final" No Idea pressing of this, so if anyone feels like letting that one go in favor of this release, hit me up.

PO - Hot Water Music Best of ...
KnowNothing replied to phelansegur's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I absolutely love this band. However... Forever and Counting is, in my humble opinion, the only great album they had from start to finish. It's really ironic because all of my favorite songs by them are on different albums than it.... -
PO soon: Against Me - 23 Live Sex Acts

I ordered a splatter the other day from the TT website, and it did appear as though they had a bunch left. Two days ago I got an email from them stating that they had sold out of the splatter, but were waiting on a second shippment from the manufacturer and would ship it out to as soon as they got it. I don't know, I just hope it looks better than teal with a little bit of blue mixed in... -
PO: Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) - Amused to Death
KnowNothing replied to markaj311's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I'm fucking torn by this release. The completist/purist in me wants the vinyl...while the logical money saving part of me wants the SACD. As much as I love the sound of vinyl and would love to add this to my PF collection, SACDs are fucking awesome. The Downward Spiral SACD blew my mind with what the could do with 5.1 sound. Yet, I have Dark Side on both formats and find myself listening to the lp more the SACD... They're too damn expensive to buy both...Wish they would have done what any other respectable major release does when they want to double dip and released them at different times...I'd be pissed they did it, but it wouldn't hurt the wallet so much at once... -
So I got the package yesterday, and there was no Deathproof...just the other records I ordered. When I placed the order SSD contacted me and asked if I wanted two separate shippments, or wait until the pre order(Death Proof) came in and have one shipment. I choose to wait, so when I got the shipping notification I assumed it was part of the package. I guess they got tired of sitting on the other records for months and decided to ship them separately. Sorry to get any ones hopes up.

Nirvana Greatest Hits - coming soon
KnowNothing replied to Barberbro's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Soooooo.....why all the hate against teen spirit? I was 11 when it came out and it got me listening to this band. Is it just really cool to hate their most famous song or something? I understand that it's over played and all, but if you still listen to commercial radio its your own fault... -
I agree. This is the order that I have my digital copy in. It definitely flows better. A vinyl pressing would be awesome.

I think it's a good thing. These things obviously sale otherwise they wouldn't keep making them, dare I say improving them. At least this way the person who is unknowlegeable about the difference in turntable quality isn't buying a system that will destroy his/her records. I'm sure it still sounds like am radio, but I've got a feeling half the people who purchase these "vintage" style record players believe that's how they're supposed to sound.
