I have to assume every flipper in America just watches this thread.

That includes one DMB is anyone is searching.
Pretty sure that's an error.
When you add it to your cart, it won't let you checkout as "We don't have enough copies in stock."

Just got word that I won a drawing to be first in line at my local record store. I get 15 minutes in the store all to myself . Not really much that I'm after that is in danger of selling out but should make for one of the smoothest RSD experiences yet.
When you get to be first in line......
......in a year with no Brand New album in a brown paper bag.

If I were you I'd suck it up and get a full membership, as I don't think Tidal will last long enough to get to the Crate folks. (Similar to DD.)
And add my name to the list of folks who got shafted on referrals... Not that I would've gotten more than a couple anyway, but the FUBAR site basically killed that right away.

In fairness, it's just the Mofi Pinkerton, but colored. Still... Great record, great sound, good price, nice variant. (I grabbed the blue MoFi of the S/T so I'm one to talk.)
-
Ah I was wondering why none of you were using my referral code!!
Well, carry on. It was fun while it lasted. Pretty excited this is gonna be 45 RPM, wish they'd release pressing info. (I mean, it's probably digitally sourced like 99% of new records but the guy doing the mastering would be nice to know. CB or maybe KG?)

You've all been bad, bad girls.

Did they really edit Jumper in 1998? WHY??
-
I'm down for Fiona.... Kinda wish it had been Extraordinary Machine, but Tidal's a good one too. (Back when we called her "young less crazy Tori Amos"... HA...)
Also use my referral code and I'll say nice things about you to my friends.

For anyone else who got the email that their membership is expiring, yet it still says active, here is a good thread to follow: http://forum.vinylmeplease.com/index.php?threads/pricing-changes-for-future-members-not-current-active.4392/page-25.
People have a lot of questions and aren't getting many answers. I sent VMP an email and if I hear back I will provide any more information. Hopefully I hear back. I really want the May release and from the email they sent it appears one needs to sign up by the end of the week. This situation is strange.
I just checked my account... It says it will automatically renew on May 2.
There's an option to "Cancel Membership," but assuming I don't do that, I don't see how they would have the justification to just kick one-monthers out.
The email seemed like a not-too-clever ploy to stir up a bit of uncertainty that would ideally lead to those one-monthers turning into 3- and 6-monthers. Kinda shady, if you ask me, but I can understand how a company gets greedy at the first sign of real success.

I don't think I'll ever get it. At least other 90s soundtracks like Romeo + Juliet, Batman Forever and Mission:Impossible had exclusive tracks or b-sides by bands that were hard to find back then. Does this have exclusive tracks? I feel besides "Pearl Jam collectors buy everything" and "baby's first grunge compilation" I haven't been given an explanation for the love of this.
WAY better soundtrack than any of the ones you just mentioned.
Exclusive tracks include two by PJ, 1 by Soundgarden, 1 by Smashing Pumpkins, 1 by Chris Cornell, and 2 by Paul Westerberg. The PJ and Pumpkins songs are widely regarded as some of the best tracks in their catalogs.
The only new tracks that were "non-exclusive" were from AIC, Mudhoney, and Screaming Trees... and the ST song is the only one most people know or care about, so it's handy to have it here.

This reminds me of the clear Blackstar everyone was paying $500 for 2 days after it was released.
I know... Idiots! If they had just waited 15 months they could've bought it for a bargain $316.87!!!

Counterpoint to the guy bitching: Until DD, you basically paid $4-6 a month (vs. $25-29 a month) and you had the option of buying every single AOTM up to this point... albeit a month late, but with the added bonus that you could pass on any album you didn't care about.
DD was the first time your plan backfired on you, but let's not pretend you weren't getting the better end of the deal for the last couple years.

Yeah...the band was so "terrible" that Sir George Martin produced some of their albums.
If you're saying a Sir George Martin production is at odds with being "terrible," allow me to present Exhibit A.

Just off the top of my head, there have been six (??) pressings of this. Current going rate added after:
1) Original 2007 Tonefloat 2XLP pressing on black vinyl with all 4 NR tracks included ($$$)
2) Same 2007 pressing on blue/black marbled vinyl in a numbered (/1000) box with art prints ($$$$$$)
3) Same 2007 pressing done a year later on pink vinyl (/500) for Pinkpop ($$$$)
4) 2015 pressing, basically identical to #1 ($$)
5) 2016 pressing on blue vinyl, no NR tracks ($$$)
And now...
6) 2017 pressing, identical to #6 ($)
So you can get the blue vinyl version for cheap again if you don't care about the NR tracks. If you want those 4 extra songs, #4 is a cheaper option than #1. (You can also get NR separately, and that plus #6 is basically the same cost as #4.)
The pink and blue/black variants will still cost you some $$$.

So it's just a straight repress of this, right? Same blue color too. Weird they're promoting it like it's some brand new pressing.

I think I'll hang onto my first run numbered box set on blue/black vinyl with the complete tracklist.... WAHAHA....
