i emailed her last week after still not getting the 7" three weeks after initially emailing her where she said she'd take care of it. she told me not to contact her about it anymore and contact infinte merch. she also gave me a non-working email adress to contact infinite merch. so no one bother using the [email protected] email as it just gets bounced back as undeliverable. it seems like gaslight's manager was just trying to save face and can't be bothered to deal with this debacle.

it's a scam and a pretty common one. places claim unrepairable damage to things like carpet/flooring, paint/walls, kitchen appliances like stoves/ovens, dishwashers, microwaves just to keep your deposit so they can replace out dated or worn out amenities at little to no cost to them but at the expense of the previous tenant. never actually heard of places charging on top of the deposit though unless you smeared shit on the walls or took a dump all over the floor. they don't expect people to fight them, especially after they throw out the collection service threat. they expect people to comply so their credit doesn't take a hit. call their bluff. if you have copies of the move in/out checklist argue your case with that and like you said have them prove what they're claiming. pictures or video is the best evidence though, you definitely need to snap some photos and/or video after you empty the place out just to cover your ass from now on. also call the local police department and ask them if anything can be done in this situation. and of course you could fight this through the court system if things progress that far, but you might wind up paying more than $850 you're out now.

Fuckin' USPS' Network Distribution Centers: the thread.
Duff replied to moonbeams's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
i wonder how many USPS employees have gotten fired over handling packages fucked up. probably none. cramming shit inside mail boxes happens way more often than it should. and shitcanning those jackasses would be a sure fire way for them to cut costs. seeing this photo and that recent viral vid of the fedex lady throwing dozens upon dozens of pacakges into the back of her truck and getting literally some random guy to hurl packages along with her made me think of how the USPS handles these situations. -

i decided i don't want to keep the box and all the extra shit that came with it (shirt, flag, game board and game piece, patch) since the records don't actually fit in the box and this truly isn't a box set because of it. if anybody wants to buy it let me know. shirt is an adult Medium and it's still sealed in the plastic bag it came in. -
i think it's lame they're charging to play online now.

the I Can Make A Mess Gold Rush thread was pure gold. every single thing he could fuck up he fucked up. and made zero apologies while sitting atop the highest of high horses. this guy gives RJ and MTS a run for their money for biggest douchebag and worst "label." it's pathetic that this douche is still doing the same shit he's been doing since day 1. oh to think you're cool because you have 50 trillion posts on absolutepunk. http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/60724-po-i-can-make-a-mess-gold-rush-lp/

Streetlight Manifesto - The Hands That Thieve

i got several emails about a refund. 2 were from the risc store; 1 telling me my order was cancelled and refunded and the other was a response back to one of the countless emails i sent them asking about a refund apologizing for taking so long. another email was the paypal notification. but it wasn't out of the blue though. since they weren't replying to emails and never answered the phone at all last week or this week no matter what time of the day i called i had to resort to essentially spamming the band's facebook page. plus my credit card company bascially told me tough shit when i called them about this situation. i commented on the band's facebook every day this week asking about refunds. it sounds petty and childish but it worked in my case. eventually i got a message on facebook from this guy, Dan, who works for the risc store and manages streetlight's facebook. he asked me for my order number and a wee bit later i got a refund. the thing that is slightly bullshit with the refunds is that they are apparently only issuing them via paypal, even though i requested it be put back on my credit card since i didn't pay for the order with paypal. they sent the refund as a payment, so paypal took out fees, which leaves you with slightly less than a full refund. it only equates to a dollar and change but it's the principle of the matter. all my comments on streetlight's facebook have since been deleted, which Dan "asked" me permission to do even though he already deleted them before messaging me. -

finally got my refund tonight. seems like for whatever reason they waited exactly 1 month after releasing the "all vinyl orders will be automatically cancelled and refunded" statement to start issuing refunds. glad this disaster is over with. -

every one of those 7" grab bags will most likely have the New Found Glory Tip Of the Iceberg 7" picture disc unless they finally ran out of copies. they were throwing those in for free with every order for a few months it seemed like -

are you only looking for stuff they did after forming RX Bandits or only stuff from current members? Steve Choi was in The Chinkees before RXB formed. Steve Borth was in Link 80. both released stuff on Asian Man -
from personal experience i can say even if the plant was properly insured they still might not have the money for a multitude of reasons. and like Mike said they would have to have extra insurance to cover flooding. they might have the business equivalent to home owner's insurance, but you need to have an extra policy that is specifically flood insurance. lots of people in the NJ/NY area did not have flood insurance and were not required to have flood insurance even if they lived right on the water. even this long after Sandy hit i know people and businesses who still don't have their insurance money. whether or not they have a mortage or own their house free and clear. getting your insurance money has been a dog and pony show of epic proportions. there are so many hoops to jump through that are all intertwined.
