drds89 reacted to brianmorgante in PO: Braveyoung - Will The Dust Praise You - Only 100 copies
Braveyoung's newest album is up for pre-order. Pre-orders end May 3rd and they ship May 5th.
Only 100 will be made. 50 were special editions with the print set by Thomas Sara, but those are already gone.
You can still order the standard copy for $10 at http://www.braveyoung.bigcartel.com/
If you don't act on this fast, they will be gone. Heads up for anyone that was interested in this!

I got the swirl looking one that's pictured. I ordered from RFC as well so I hope it's not going to be the same one. I'm a bit confused on this release as far as the variants go.

I love Two Conversations. I think it's my favorite AC record. I don't think it's their best but I love it because it's their most accessible work. Knowing where they came from to write those songs, I think it shows that this band could be a popular band if they wanted to write radio friendly music. But, they write what they want and seem to appreciate the attention they get for that. I respect it.
I fell in love with them in 2000/2001. Probably one of my favorite bands who started near at the same time I was beginning college and continued to progress through my early 30's as I progress.

Of course.
I'm still in love with this album. It's understandably a huge progression from Two Conversations, but I still think you'll really enjoy it. Not to sound too pretentious, but it really is an album for anyone who enjoys good, quality music. Can't wait for mine to show up in the mail.

I heard the terrible news this morning. It really sucks to know I we'll never see him again. He's was a really good dude and was always incredibly nice to me over the years. There's nothing much more I can say. We lost a truly awesome guy.

drds89 reacted to Derek™ in Fs: Appleseed Cast - Two Conversations
Wait, wait. This is your entry into the band? I thought you were gunning for a specific variant. I'm not sure if you were aware, but this album was repressed recently, and is still available through Graveface for $15 PPD. On some sweet green-on-green wax, no less. But your eBay win is nothing to shake a stick at, either.
Anyway. Appleseed is a pretty incredible band. I'm inclined to admit that the hype is justified. Their discography is rather vast, and it's all pretty much ace. I'd make an effort to grab their upcoming release, Illumination Ritual. It's extremely solid, and also available at Graveface. You definitely won't regret it.

Thanks man. I've heard too much positive talk of TAC to not give them a try. This good looking piece of wax felt like a solid place to start.

Watching this like a hawk; like a very fixated hawk; like a hawk that has especially good vision as far as hawks go; like a hawk with binoculars, even.

drds89 reacted to Derek™ in PO: The Appleseed Cast - Illumination Ritual
I intentionally skipped all the album previews and even the single[s?] to avoid spoilers... and I'm glad I did. I gave Illumination Ritual a whirl last night... and cliché as it may sound, it was certainly an experience. Very glad I held out, personally. It was pretty much exactly what I expected a new Appleseed album to sound like, and I mean that in the best way possible. I can sense that it already has room to grow, but I was rather pleased on the first, attentive go-through.

i agree with this little essay a lot, actually. i wasn't condoning sharing and/or downloading by mentioning soulseek. i even mentioned you should all buy the record. i just know some people like to hear records before they actually buy them (his #4 point in the essay). people would have found out sooner or later, anyhow. i personally buy as many records as i can afford and i don't "share." having said that: BUY THE RECORD. IT'S GOOD!

Yo, no lie, I am totally into pineapple in general and that def includes on pizza, but I'll share a little tip for the pizza lovers out there.
Jalapeno + Pineapple is key.
Doesn't matter what else is on it, but those 2 together are total win.
If you don't like spicy, or don't like pineapple (esp on pizza) then disregard, you prob won't be converted, but I would say still worth a shot, unless you have stomach ailments and should avoid spicy food.
It's like the Jalapeno spices it up, but the Pineapple cools it right down. Yin and Yang.
