corbet
This may be a matter of people's opinions, but I was just curious as to what you think sounds the best on vinyl in terms of bands or genre? Currently I'm unable to play any of my LPs because I'm saving up for a Turntable (Technics SL-1210MKII) but I can't wait to jam out with my collection. So, what bands or genres think sound the best on Vinyl?

celebdeath
can depend on the quality of the deck. i have a nice one but i do need to eventually replace it with a top notch deck as i get a bit of inner groove distortion on a number of records. also, fully distorted type stuff sometimes gets a bit washy, but in general i reckon everything sounds better though the vinyl format. mono sounds fucking amazing as does pelican. sgoodcore
From what I've read (specifically from Var in the Vinyl File) is sludge records with big deep low end can't even really be listened to accurately on anything except vinyl. Also I would say Planes Mistaken for Stars and Led Zep should be added to the list.

bicyclepirate
motherfucking Sabbath. +1 Definitely. Plus, anything that was pressed in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s sounds way better on vinyl than cd reissues.
steventangent
Everyone has heard "Iron Man" ad nauseum. It's always on the radio and everywhere. Do yourself a favor and find a copy of Paranoid on vinyl. Put it immediately on "Iron Man" and turn your stereo all the way the fuck up. It will be like appreciating that song for the first time. It will rule. Small animals will scurry for cover. And if your neighborhood is anything like mine, one of your neighbors will go "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Even better would be the self-titled album. On Halloween, throw it on, put your speakers in the windows, and blast the title track. Make children cry. Then sell it to me because I still don't have it or Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
