kylekrische
I like a lot of the themes, especially with Naz getting into prison and showing what that broken system can do to even acclimatized civilians but because it's on such a micro scale it makes it makes it difficult to expand the story I guess? *(*************I have no fucking clue how to do the spoiler shit so SPOILER I GUESS******************************* Like it really has to be Duane right? We got the long camera pause in episode one and by episode two the witness lying about being alone. That essentially is the entire set up there. Now the step-dad is a real curveball in the mix because he is so weird. I guess they could go off the board and land with it on him eventually, it would back up her "I can't be alone tonight" line from episode one, implies she knew something was coming, thus someone she knew carrying out the attack would make more sense than a random killing (Duane). Could back that up with witness lying because he just assumed Duane went back and killed her but didn't actually know it for sure. Regardless, it has a tone I like, it looks good, could use a few less of the hype close-ups at the beginning of every scene, we get it, the details are important but otherwise exactly the level I've come to expect from HBO Edited August 11, 2016 by kylekrische
YouTwo
Duane was my guess from the beginning (I mentioned it on page 1 but I didn't know his name at the time). Now he's on the run! Not something an innocent man would do.

Though Nas ran out of fear. Duane has something to hide, and I bet it's big.
ptothedo
finally caught up. that mortician can't be the guy, has to be either Duane, step dad, or Naz. Have to think the step dad had to be spying on her in that house (taxidermy?).
jhook
Naz did it man, I can feel it.

YouTwo
I feel like Chandra is going to be a character that you don't want to underestimate in the final episodes. I can't believe there is only 2 left.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
the step dad hired Duane to kill her to get the full inheritance, bet that's what happens

kylekrische
I'm not sure how I feel about the prison transition for Naz. The drug smuggling I get but like the wack knuckle tat and stuff was just too much. I like that the story is building a little more and we're looking at more realistic suspects now too with the new step-dad info.
ptothedo
Seems like we're past the who dunit and rather is there enough to acquit.
paranoidantroyd
For some reason I feel like Freddy knows who did it.
YouTwo
Things aren't looking too good for Naz. Even if he didn't do it, the trial doesn't seem to be going in his favor. Hopefully Jack's investigating turns up something. I can't believe this needs to wrap up in one more episode.
YouTwo
On a non-spoiler note, the exchange between Helen and Dr. Katz on the stand was pretty entertaining.

dnl
The show is really good at hitting every prison cliché though.
YouTwo
So what did everyone think of the finale? Spoiler To me it was a little underwhelming. We never found out exactly what happened or how it happened. I still really liked the show but I was hoping for some big twists at the end. jhook
I really liked the show a lot but I have to admit that I though the ending was a little "eh". The end of the case seemed like a Disney movie.
ptothedo
Overall satisfied with the ending and they left a decent amount of open storylines to either continue using the same characters or go a True Detective route. The whole Chandra thing was just, puzzling.... Really dragged it down imho.

If there was going to be a second season I would have been pretty happy with the ending. Maybe they left it open ended in case it was successful and they decide to do another season. Shitty Rambo
Good ending. Depressing, but well executed. Kinda hope they don't double dip with this series and just let only this one season exist. I feel like HBO would "True Detective" the shit outta this if given the chance.
YouTwo
Spoiler I'm curious if Jack threw Chandra under the bus for no reason? Or did his closing argument have a big impact on the hung jury?
