gravitylovesdrunks
how much did he buy them for? and there will be a very large mark-up.
Duff
one day i actually took the time to compare what he buys things for and what he goes ahead and sells them for; insane. one of note was a modest mouse LP he won for under $20, i forget the exact price but a steal none the less. then he went ahead a listed the same record in his store for $69.99 less than a month later. he also bought mailers in bulk, 100, from someone so i guess he planned on being busy with his astronomical prices. Duff
it was out of both curiosity and frustration. ive lost quite a few things i was bidding on and wanted pretty badly to him in the last few seconds. and like thats not bad enough he goes ahead and lists it in his store for double or triple what he got it for. its like kicking you when youre down. forgeagain
I don't get why you're mad that he paid the most for your auction. He's taking the risk that some idiot later will pay a lot more for it. If you wanted to get more for it, you can list it for more. When people complain about getting "snaked" on eBay, it's so stupid. You can enter ANY price you want. The maximum you are willing to pay is what you're supposed to enter. Sure, you're always willing to spend an extra cent or whatever, but that's likely not what the person who outbid you is paying. I just miss the old days when people would bid whatever they were willing to bid immediately and didn't just have 20 people watching the auction and then bidding in the last 6 seconds. andrew13
report it to ebay and he'll get both accts booted. it's against their TOS to have multiple accts.
loren
you are allowed multiple accounts you just cant bid on your own things...i thought that before too
slinch
A couple of weeks ago he bought an AFI boxset for $100 and listed it for $300. That's just ridiculous.

hickey
Yeah, as long as he pays for the stuff, what's the problem?
brentoage
i still don't get what this guy does wrong. the buyers who pay for the stuff he sells are the idiots here.
hickey
the buyers who pay for the stuff he sells are the idiots here. Truth. If morons will pay, why not jack up the price? If I ran an ebay store like his, I would want to get the most I could for each item.
slinch
On the other hand, I bought a 7" from him for half the value. Though he couldn't know that because the record hasn't appeared on ebay for 2 years
suburbanargyle
He can mark things up ridiculously high all he wants, but does he actually sell stuff at that marked up price?
captainmorgan
He can mark things up ridiculously high all he wants, but does he actually sell stuff at that marked up price? He's been doing it for long enough that surely he would've stopped by now if it wasn't at least somewhat profitable.

Duff
i like how he had 1 copy of deja and sold it for $79.99, then figured if someone bought it for that price i'll jack up the price a bit to $84.99, and someone bought it. that happened within a week of each other. with him its definitley a combination of stupid people paying his prices, and that fuels him to keep doing what hes doing because people are clearly willing to pay up.
