travis Posted November 18, 2008 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I love this band. Ive liked every album they have put out. I doubt they will ever get back to the greatness of Full Collapse but still definitely looking foward to this. Epitaph is making some great signings lately. magalvsr13 Posted November 18, 2008 Share Posted November 18, 2008 i've never been HUGE on thursday, always just kind of liked them, but with their direction the envy split and the few originals on Kill the House Lights - this should be very very good Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
rhythmgtr5 Posted November 18, 2008 Share Posted November 18, 2008 they are using the same guy who produced a city by the light divided i wish they'd use someone else. the mixing on that album was terrible imo Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

gravitylovesdrunks Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 only awesome track off of their last full-length was running from the rain, but that track was MOST awesome. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

skumbucket Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 i thought the last album was incredible. and dave fridmann is one of the best producers out there, has been since he started working with the flaming lips. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mcm1610 Posted November 20, 2008 Share Posted November 20, 2008 I still don't get the hate on the last album. It was a great album soundwise and all the production that everyone bitches about was intentional. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
brad Posted November 20, 2008 Share Posted November 20, 2008 i'm sure i've said it before. when i first heard ACBTLD i knew things would be different. The album really flowed nicely but it felt empty to me. and the production super muddy. I liked some of the songs live (atv, running in the rain, blinding light, sugar, alr) but I haven't been able to listen to the cd versions for a long damn time now. that and I preferred all the demo versions to the real version. every single one of them. I'm no music expert so I don't know how to express my disappointment with the studio versions. just they seemed muddy and really compact and 'small'. also, geoff's voice seems too much in the background on some songs (from what I can remember) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
monk0nuggets Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 var ads = new Array("300x250-1.png","300x250-2.png","300x250-3.png"); var num = Math.floor(Math.random()*ads.length); if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) { if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) document.write('+':irfz9pyo]'); else document.write('+':irfz9pyo]'); } else { document.write(''); } Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
monk0nuggets Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 I'm not sure why everyone bitches about the production, it sounds fucking phenomenal. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jhamm212 Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 only awesome track off of their last full-length was running from the rain, but that track was MOST awesome. Truth. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mcm1610 Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 It was a great album soundwise and all the production that everyone bitches about was intentional. Why does it matter if it was done intentionally or not? Because that's what they meant to do, and it isn't the album-ruiner that everyone makes it out to be. Yea, it's not the clean production of WATT, and it's sloppier than FC, but they're a sloppy band. It works, so why all the hate? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

kurtz Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 Why does it matter if it was done intentionally or not?Because that's what they meant to do, and it isn't the album-ruiner that everyone makes it out to be. Yea, it's not the clean production of WATT, and it's sloppier than FC, but they're a sloppy band. It works, so why all the hate? It definately played a big part in ruining the album for me. I don't think it was sloppy at all. It was just way too over produced, and over compressed. Whoever mixed and mastered it treated it like it was a radio pop album. IMO production like that does not go well at all with a band like Thursday. I have a really hard time getting past it when I listen to ACBTLD.
