Guest Admin
LEMURIA / OFF WITH THEIR HEADS “Under the Influence” Volume 7 AUSTIN LUCAS / FRANK TURNER “Under the Influence” Volume 8 Vinyl Collective and Suburban Home are happy to announce the songs selected for Volumes 7 and 8 for our Under the Influence series http://www.vinylcollective.com/under-the-influence-series/. On Volume 7, Lemuria cover "Alex Eiffel" by the Pixies and Off With Their Heads cover "Scarred by Love" by the Nobodys. There will be an edition of 2,000 copies pressed (300/700/1000). On Volume 8, Austin Lucas covers "To Daddy" by Dolly Parton and Frank Turner covers "Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen. There will be an edition of 1,000 copies pressed (300/700). Yes, we know that Frank's cover is also being released on a 7" in the UK, but since it is out of an edition of 300 and won't have Mitch and Amanda's incredible art. Speaking of Mitch and Amanda, they are currently working on the art for Volumes 7 and 8. We hope to have something to share with you shortly. Although not official, it looks like Volume 9 of our series will be a split between Ruiner and Hawks and Doves. Ruiner has booked recording time with J Robbins. We are still waiting on word from Gared of Hawks and Doves about when he plans to record. In other Under the Influence news, we are really excited to share that we are gonna start producing Under the Influence podcasts. The podcasts will feature interviews with the artists from each split, the original song that is being covered for the 7", and an original song from each of the UTI artists. We are really excited about this and need your help. Can you comment either on this post or on our message board what you would like us to ask the artists during our interviews. If you have a specific question for an artist, just mention which act you want us to ask the question. I am thinking we will ask around 3 to 5 questions during each podcast so do not be bummed if your question isn't asked.

buddhistzombie
one of the questions should be the following . . . favorite adult drink? or Chipotle vs Qdoba? or favorite zombie movie of all time? sorry virgil, im a little biased because im a fat kid who likes to drink, eat and watch zombie films . . . . other than boobs or rockets, these are the only three things that matter . . . bigmonkey
You should ask them why they chose the song to cover that they did. Was the artists work in general influential on them? Did that song in particular have a story or special meaning for the band/artist? Seems kind of obvious in a cover-song series, but I'd be curious nonetheless. dante3000
Yeah, I ordered the UK copy of the Frank Turner 7"...Why? You could also ask who else they considered covering and what made them choose this over the others.

andyfuckingthomas
What we would like to do is include your user names in the podcast. For example "Johnythundertits123 asks: How many kids under the age of 14 have you successfully fought?" The first split we're planning on doing the Podcast for is for Frank Turner and Austin Lucas. So think of specific questions we could ask those two gents and you may just get your board name read on the air (internet) Got it? Good. Go! thedavidescapeplan
For Austin: Why Dolly Parton, is it because of the tits?
dante3000
Nice. Questions: Austin Lucas Dante3000 asks why do you hate American beer? Second part question, what's the dumbest thing you've ever done drunk. Frank Turner: Dante3000 asks when can we expect new material from "We did it all for the tank"? Additionally, do you get laid like crazy in America because of the accent?
