daniele
Some days ago i ordered from Smartpunk the Bear Vs Shark's Terrorhawk vinyl version, they had the normal cover picture on the web site and no mentions about other particulars: anyway i just received the fucking picture disc version and sincerely i'm not a PD fan, i love the normal covers.... Is it too hard for them write near the item that is a fucking picture disc????
altarsofradness
no idea what smartpunk is, but i dont dig on picture discs too much either. now that i think about it, i dont know too many people who do. who buys these things?
dim
I'm not a fan of smartpunk either, or picture discs
Guest Admin
I hate to talk trash, but I have not been very happy with smartpunk, they owe me a decent amount of money (at least for me) and they don't answer my calls or emails. I don't want to get ugly about it, but I might do something drastic to get their attention.
scottheisel
Smartpunk never answers anyone's emails about anything. I've tried to get in touch with them the past two years regarding the Smartpunk Stage on Warped, and it literally took weeks and weeks of near-daily emails to finally get someone's attention. mrc
i have only ordered from them twice, but didnt really have any problems besides one of the orders took about 3 weeks to ship even though the item was in stock. but i will think twice in the future. daniele
picture discs are awesome. especially that bear vs shark! Ok, the vinyl looks great, but i hate the trasparent plastic sleeve and i would like have the normal paper cover with all the artwork.... lechevre
I like picture discs, but I agree robotnerd, it's better to have actual artwork instead of the clear sleeve. I won't go out of my way for them, but if you like the band it's usually a pretty cool piece in a collection.

I'd probably like them a lot more even if they came in a plain white sleeve.

Guest scriptedrain
I've had only bad experiences with SmartPunk and refuse to order from there. - Jeff
altarsofradness
my biggest issue with picture discs is that most dont come with a jacket. and that makes them awkward to store. and if they do come with a jacket, they're so thick it seems like they cause the jacket to ring wear faster than normal wax and they sort of look tacky but like someone already said, if my favorite band puts one out, im buying it. flood
it took me 2 years to get paid from there, and then they sent all my backstock back to me (without any notice) to an address i hadnt lived at in 2 years. It took me forever to track my shit down. they're awful
skumbucket
i've collected a good amount of picture discs only to be as completist as possible (alk3) or because i love the band immensely (hwm, bear vs shark) or if it's totally cool (again, bear vs shark). but i probably wouldn't really want it. dim
why are the graphics on picture discs always so low quality?

thischarmingham
Word on the street is they laid people off recently. Doubt that's gonna make things better on the customer service front nor does it bode well for trying to get paid from them.
pilotzgfr
i met a dude that worked at smart punk and ever since that i knew it was a shady operation. i did email them about the smartpunk stage and got a response though. sales is what gets you a spot no matter who, when or where. hard for a band to get bigger if they cant play the smallest stage at warped isnt it? ass clowns. faith
why are the graphics on picture discs always so low quality? im curious about that aswell some are very good quality graphics and some look like it's a printout of a NES game. jeremy
I really try to push interpunk for my sales. They use their website to request payment instead of trying to email someone and hope for a payment.
