They just did them. They are going to be selling them on this upcoming tour.

the only issue i see with it is if you're uber into it but not at the right place at the right time and you end up missing out on a share or two. this usually happens to me with pre-orders (happened with the recent loved ones record) and as amped as i am to be a part of this, i would HATE for it to happen to me and miss out on this opportunity.

I think that we should have a short list of definite realistic possibilities for the first couple releases before any money changes hands. I for one would like to have an idea of whats going to be pressed before I buy into this.

Some of the suggested albums I could get behind, but others I don't want any part of. It would be good to know if some records I like had a chance to be pressed by us.

That's like saying you are personally responsible for everything said in every forum on this board and that the opinions of your posters are an accurate representation of Vinyl Collective or Suburban Home or your personal beliefs. +

1) I wouldn't say deadformat is a negative site. Some (many?) of the things that get posted (mostly on the 2 other forums) on here are much worse than that DF thread and make me never want to come here again.

2) DF is a resource for collecting and trading records which is both complementary (notice the lack of an i) to VC and is not a competitor for sales. I would say half of the regular posters here post there.

Lastly, I have complete confidence in the administration of this idea. While I am positive that that end of the operation will not lead to a quick end to this, I am much more nervous about what the potential shareholder body here will decide. Remember: a) there will be a bottom-line-influencing backslash (eventually) against ill-matching colors and splatters; 1000 (or at least 900) LPs are going to have to be moved in a relative short time, if you're the only one who wants something out on vinyl, who are the rest going to be sold to?; c) anyone who has ever complained about a pre-order taking "long" should seriously think twice before putting down $$.

It may have been mentioned, but shareholders should also be offered wholesale price if that's the return they get per LP.

I support this idea, because I think it's neat. And the idea that for 50-60 dollars you could potentially get twice your investments worth in free records if it's successful enough.

My only concern, along with most peoples major concern is, well, ending up with a record we don't want. How many times do you pass up Whipped Cream and Other Delights" for a dollar or Anne Murray records for a dime? The way I'd like to see it, is that I put 50-60 dollars in once, and I'm satisified with at least 50% of my investment. So we press a My Chemical Romance record...great, they're alright, say the other record is a Failure record, color me stoked. I mean, I just want to be assured in one way or another that I never end up with a Dance Gavin Dance record, because quite frankly...that shit is garbage.

In the end, however, I am a hoarder, and whatever got pressed, I'd keep, because I don't really even trade, let alone sell, unless it's something expendable, because that's one less record on my shelf.
