kurtz
I would stay on the island and attempt to survive on my own. I'd much rather die on an island than out at sea. Dying at sea on a makeshift raft is one of the worst deaths I can imagine. What would you do? I don't care what records or books you would want with you on the island. jasonskanks
is there a smoke monster on this island?
devinr
Yeah dude I'd stay and try to survive.
soysquad
depends. Is there enough stuff on the island to actually sustain someone? if there is, stay for sure. If not, I'd get off that rock.
jhulud
I've watched enough episodes of Man vs. Wild and Survivorman...I'd stay...
burdenx
I'd probably stay for awhile but eventually get really fucking bored and try to float somewhere.

ihprstl
I'd probably stay for awhile but eventually get really fucking bored and try to float somewhere. This. I'd prolly hang out for a while and try and figure out how to build the best raft possible. Are there any means to pre-order records on this island? kurtz
Am I alone or are other people stranded with me? Alone. I've watched enough episodes of Man vs. Wild and Survivorman...I'd stay... This week's Man vs. Wild is what inspired this thread.
dynamitekid
I would build a raft because if I stayed on the island I would die of 3rd degree sunburns
lonesomexloveus
I would build a raft because if I stayed on the island I would die of 3rd degree sunburns you'd actually probably be more prone to sunburns out at sea. direct sun all day. at least on the island there's probably some shade available. lonesomexloveus
I don't care what records or books you would want with you on the island. also, this is my favorite part of the thread.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
I'd stay for a few years, grow a gnarly beard and get a sweet tan and get fucked up off indigenous plants, then return home. I want to look like this.
drabley
Was I on the S.S. Minnow along with Ginger Grant and Mary Ann Summers? Would there be delicious coconuts to eat and palm fronds to be fanned with? Is it this island (Alcatraz)? Or this one (Playa Flamenco, Isla Culebra, Puerto Rico)? Impossible to answer this question without additional information.
darknesscomesalive
As long as John Locke was there everything would be just fine.
kittenmittons
shit exhaustion is the major cause of death while stranded at sea. hell the fuck no on the raft...i'd chill on the island and try to weave a roof and a turntable. necessities, really. drabley
As long as John Locke was there everything would be just fine. This. Because I would kill myself long before anything else would become an issue.

sonix
I'd stay.. I mean, its your own island. Sure it would be boring but you're like the president and everything.
drabley
The idea of open water is pretty terrifying. Seriously. If shit went down in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, you could literally be over 1200 miles from land in any direction. I wonder what the most remote point at sea is? saxamaphone
I'd stay so I could brag about having my own island, even if it were just to the seagulls and fiddler crabs.
monk0nuggets
Being in open water in a shitty raft does indeed sound horrific. I would definitely stay and explore.
jayeffscene
I've read 'Lord of the Flies' and 'Tales of the Black Freighter' just enough to totally think this is a no-win situation.
Duff
as long as there is a steady source of fresh water and meat for protein and you can get a fire going you can survive pretty long, years maybe. there's none of that out at sea. unless you can see land or know exactly, without a doubt where you are only an idiot will build a raft and try their luck.
