jhulud
Now that the Mighty Mighty Bosstones have reunited (hopefully not briefly), maybe the genre and style will make a much needed comeback. It has been a while for fun music. I am getting bored with all of this angry and emotional music...I want to skank around again damnit!!!! morgan
I was thinking this the other day because besides the Bosstones, High School Football Heroes just announced that they're getting back together.

cadetapplesauce
i love ska. but in all probability, no. i think ska had it's time in the mainstream.
matt
i wouldnt mind a small resurgence again but orange county during the 95-97 influx just got ridiculous. nearly every band nerd decided to start a band.
monk0nuggets
Ska is fun in small doses. I doubt it will make a comeback, but who knows. No Doubt is supposedly going back to their ska roots. We'll see if that effects the mainstream.

Guest falloutcollapse
I never got into ska. I've heard tons of ska-punk bands, but never really got into it. I wonder why...

flood
ska punk is just fun shit. plus i'm friends with most of the ska bands that are actually still playing/touring.. so i'd get to see them all alot more frequently. and besides pretty girls in skirts dancing with you > bitter girls with bad tattoos, zelda haircuts and piercings writing in journals and being mopey. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ska is definitely on its way back.
ericxthexred
im mixed on this. i love stuff like slapstick and LTJ, but maaaaan like the other 90% of ska bands just irritate the HELL out of me.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Big D and Streetlight are single-handedly reviving ska. Big D's first date of tour on friday had 450 kids in buffalo. thats insane.
kirbypuckett
Streetlight should release a box-set.
cadetapplesauce
i agree that big d and streetlight are reviving ska, but i dont think it'll make a mainstream comeback. but it goes without saying that Strictly Rude was one of the best albums released this year. mrc
i would rather listen to a reel big fish type band than a fall out boy type band. So i hope ska comes back.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i don't think ska is out of mainstream at all. reggae and ska songs are used in commercials and advertisements more now than they were 5 years ago... its all a matter of a band making that one hit song for ska to be shot back into the lime light and then ruined all over again in, what can be discussed as the next disco era... ska went out as fast as disco did. lokithelion
Goddamn I hope not. That shit is obnoxious. -1 I can't describe how disappointed I am.. sigh Says the girl who owns Matchbook Romance collectible notebooks, valentines, and commemorative stamps. I love Ska. Suicide Machines break up was hard on me as was ASOB. Thankfully Bomb the Music Industry, the Slackers, Mustard Plug and We Are the Union are sill keeping the various flavors of the genre alive.
