scottheisel
Seriously: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=389249&blogId=525752347 Hello friends of Piebald, word on the street is that we are reuniting...and, while that is not quite true, we are getting together to play a show (or maybe 2) this year to celebrate the rerelease of our out-of-print catalog. "Piebald: First Ten Years" is going to be a 3 volume set of releases with 2 discs apiece that will be released on Rise Records. It will contain our first three albums, all our ep's, bsides and live gems. Volume I will be released in mid April, Volume II in mid May, and volume III in mid June. We will be playing "we are the only friends we have" from start to finish at the Bamboozle fest on may 2nd. We hope that you can come celebrate with us!! Love, Travis and the rest of The 'Bald
xfactor675
oh my god... They couldn't find a real label?
adammuzzy
i know it's not a popular opinion, but that's definitely my favorite piebald album. i kinda want to see that.
Duff
oh my god... They couldn't find a real label? the never really ever were on a "real label." Side One Dummy was probably the biggest and Big Wheel Rec is now defunct. i don't think many labels wanted to take on this project, it's too much risk for too little gain. but i wish they would record new material than re-release their out of print stuff most people already have. scottheisel
I wouldn't want them to record any new material unless they came to the conclusion that their last two albums blew to various degrees of hardness and decided to revisit their Venetian Blinds/WATOFWH sund. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
wait, so they're re-releasing the songs that they already re-released on that double disc album 6 years ago?
lokithelion
Rise seems to be starting to move away from their early roots to try and build a catalog deeper than just "scene" bands. This is a good move for them.
davezer
Fucking A'! Now i have to go to bamboozle.
vinyljunkie
didnt this already happen a few years ago, on a still in print collection album? i love me some piebald, one of my favorite bands, but unless this is a vinyl collection im not interested in the least. rtw88
This is partly awesome because I love piebald, but like others said. The first two albums and some eps and rarities were already reissued on barely legal/all ages. But whatever, if it exposes more people to Piebald then it's a good thing. I'm kind of bummed that they're not recording new stuff. I didn't like the majority of their post WATOFTWH catalog, but the last album had its moments for what it was. I'm sure they won't, but I'm going to hope that they play around this area. I never had a chance to see them.
ericheartsu
this is crazy. i was told all the old records were being re-released by sideone, we'll see if it happens though!! <
sewbr0
piebald is my favorite band ever, but i do not support any of this. the only thing id support would be a tour where they revisit older material from WLHYL and Sometimes Friends Fight. then id be impressed. but going to bamboozle to see my favorite band? ill pass

mrc
was that band/solo thing "Totally Travis" or whatever it was called worth listening too? I remember the first time i saw them (in 2000) they were selling this cd. Just curious if anyone has an opinion on it.

selfreliable
Huh? HAHAHAHAHA perfect That worked out too well. As far as Totally Travis, I really enjoy it. One song turned out to be on We are...but it has some really good stuff all around on it. I solidly back it and Im not that big a piebald fan.
