tannerbnd
my favorite thing about waiting for awesome records to get here is having to wait for a shipment that was shipped in JAN 11 from Vinyl collective....the tracking states that it has left the same the facility five days in a row...are they taking it out in the parking lot, for a walk them bringing it back in...if not here tomrrow, i think i will have to take a stroll down to the wonderful, obviously overworked USPS. what the hell is wrong with the system? haha...sorry had to rant

travis
get what you pay for when it comes to shipping. i agree that the USPS does some odd shit with their media mail tho.
scotterson
What I think is so crazy is that sometimes it takes a day, sometimes a month. There seems to be absolutely no logic involved in the media mail system.

usps
but it's cheap. Thank You! It's always nice to hear from customers using a service as it was intended to be used. To the new vinyl consumer: Media mail shipments generally arrive before their expected delivery date, your shipper can tell you what this date will be or you can get some idea by visiting usps.com. xjustinxschwierx
also depends on your post office. my advice: bribe your postal carrier with gifts around major holidays. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.
rockstar71888
I sent out four 7"s today. On 2 of them, First Class was cheaper. Go figure.
mcm1610
I've never had a problem.. 5 or 6 days tops, but now I'm waiting on a textbook for class that is on day 8.
daniel
Usually I get stuff in a week or so but some things come in like 3 days. Shit blows my mind.
mattisr1984
you should always ship 7"s first class anyway because its faster. when its over 13 oz is when you have to do either media, parcel, or priority. i would take media mail over parcel post post any day. parcel is where the big boxes end up because priority is too expensive and your shit will get smashed. not to mention its just as slow, if not slower. as people have already pointed out, you get what you pay for. punkrockvinyl25
media mail is always the last priority for the usps workers. it collects up...the less mail that they have thats when stuff starts to leave the post office. i've taken AMR mail to a post office and noticed that mail i had taken a week prior is still sitting in the back by the bulk mail. tannerbnd
yeah i always get them within 5 days or so....that is why this one is so weird....especially leaving the same post offive five days in a row.

selfreliable
My issue is when people ship media mail on something when it is the same price or a dollar more to do priority. THAT makes no sense. I just got something from Vinyl collective via media mail today, and am still waiting on a package from PA that was shipped same day with media mail. forgeagain
It's rarely $1 more to do priority mail. In fact, it's almost always at least twice as much. 1 lb media mail = $2.38 1 lb priority = $4.90 1 lb priority = $5.15 (outside zone) 2 lb media mail = $2.77 2 lb priority = $5.00 (within zone) 2 lb priority = $7.50 (outside zone) And so on. danthemjfan23
also, it may seem stupid to the buyer, but think of it from the seller's point of view: i'm i sell things to 20 people, saving "just a dollar" by shipping media mail really saves me $20, if not more (as forgeagain pointed out). if the buyer throws in an extra buck or two and says they want it priority, then absolutely i go with that. but if they're still going to get the records, it's no skin off my back if they have to wait an extra day or two.
