- Woke up yesterday to find my right hand a bit swollen, and it still is today. Debating whether or not to skip my afternoon class to get it looked at or wait until tomorrow. It's not really making feel too good about not having some vascular disease after the tingling a few months back.

You're still having issues? Did that doctor give you medication or just a pat on the back and a kick to the door?

Put me back on my anxiety meds and said see ya in a month. I think it's time for a new doctor.

Fuck that doctor! Seriously.

That's such bullshit man. You should definitely find a much better doctor -- ask around and see who your co-workers and friends might have for a doctor...a better doctor.

For sure. My doctor is a really intelligent guy, and actually is a decent doctor, but it just seems like he does not listen to me since I'm young and I complain of a lot of different things.

i wish everyone could go to my doctor. i call him by his first name, and he wears jeans to see patients. coolest guy and he actually cares about and listens to his patients and is really good at what he does, too.

when i was in college, i still went to my pediatrician (and this guy was my parent's doctor) and i got pink eye on a saturday. the clinic on campus wasn't open, and when my mom called the pediatrician, they told her there was nothing they could do until they saw me in the office on monday. now, i'd had pinkeye many times before, and when you wake up with your eyes crusted shut with green goop, that's not just allergies. my mom called her doctor (now my doctor), and when she told him that i was positive i had pinkeye and listed off my symptoms, he called in a prescription to our local pharmacy right away.

- Over the last few months I have been pretty sick and have been to several specialists and still haven't resolved much of anything. I've been diagnosed with asthma, and severe allergies, which include milk, chocolate, chicken, mellons, all types of grass, many trees, dogs, cats, etc. I've had my throat scoped (as I keep choking on different types of foods), and found I am also allergic to Flovent (which I was prescribed). I finally got an appointment to see a lung specialist, but it isn't until December. Feeling like saliva is constantly leaking into your lungs is not a good feeling.

-Having a master's degree and still working two shitty jobs far from home is not fun.

-Feeling lightheaded with a headache at work.

-Bummer of a day.

A teacher from my high school that all my friends loved was hit by a car and killed last night. I never had him, only met him once or twice, but everyone loved this guy. I had a lot of friends who absolutely hated school and never wanted to go, let alone do any work, and he was a teacher that even they liked going to see and did work for.. It's so nuts. He has two really small kids that my friend has in her after-school program. I barely know him and just reading everyone so upset on facebook and talking to friends, I want to cry.

I think my doctor's problem is he is the only one in his practice and has way too many patients. I loved the doctor I saw when I didn't have insurance, but he was only a resident and has since moved to Pittsburgh to open a practice. My doctor's answer to all my questions is usually "you are young, it's not something we worry about". WTF, it can be though. I just really want to know what the fuck is going on, the last few months have been hell on my mental health from it all.

@Jordan - That sucks man. I had to go to a lung specialist a few years ago, and it took me months to see the guy too. Specialists are always booked it seems, which sucks, since it can be life or death if you see them.

That's ridiculously tragic man, I'm sorry. The confused emotions coming from both not knowing this man and learning about him through your friends (and social networks) is probably really crucial. I wish the best to you and everyone who surrounded that man and has come in contact with him.

Two months after I graduated high school, one of my best friends died from a random brain aneurysm, and I was in complete and total shock from it. She was my teacher for four years (random subjects) and honestly the most intelligent, calm, humorous, and influential person that I had known of, and still consider. I couldn't even attend her funeral because I had my great aunt's funeral to attend. Death sucks.

the year after i graduated from high school, my english teacher of two years died of a heart attack completely out of the blue. he was one of those crotchety guys who was a super tough grader, always assigned too much work, would only teach the honors classes, and had really high standards for us all. underneath that though, the guy had a heart of gold, and he wrote a really awesome college recommendation for me. he was one of those guys that you figured would be around forever and your grandkids would have him in school. when my dad called me to tell me he died, i thought he was kidding at first. i think it sucks the most when it's really sudden and you don't have time to come to term with things.

- Went to Urgent Care today, because I didn't want to see my Doctor about the swollen hand. They took x-rays, looks normal, but they still want me to follow up with a Rhumatology specialist. They said I could be developing arthritis, and even if it's not that, they are better suited for all the problems I've been having since the tingling started a few months back. I did ask again about it being Vascular, and they said everything looks normal still, so who knows. Now to spend more money on more expensive doctors :(.

- Have to write a midterm Essay for my Diversity class. It's a ton of typing, but should be easy to do, just time consuming. Sucks too since they told me to try to stay away from repetitive tasks at the doctor.

+++++ got a letter in the mail today saying that I am eligible for a part of a $2.8 million settlement that a former employer paid out to present/former employees for improper payroll practices while I was employed there (I was let go at the end of 2005). It looks like it is going to be about $8 per workweek during the period in question (I was there for 9 of the sketchy months). Pretty sweet that 5 years later those fuckers have to pay me hahaha!

+ playing out tonight and doing a live webcast tomorrow

+ My mom called me to tell me she wired some money into my bank account so I can pay my phone bill and buy some groceries.

- I'm an unemployed 29 year old guy who has to ask for handouts from his mom.

As long as you appreciate it, man. Mail her a thank you card.

My brother just turned 29, and he has a wife and two kids and cannot find a fucking stable job. He's separated himself from us and we're the ones who have helped him out immensely through the years. But he doesn't give us shit for appreciation, so let me tell you that as long as you're respectful and still have a soul, do something for that lady who pushed you through her....you get the idea haha

+ went and caught Silver Lion's 20/20 and Hans Condor for free last night, fucking excellent bands Silver Lion's 20/20 is comprised of Chet Weisse (lead singer/guitarist for The Immortal Lee County Killers), Sweet Dog (Craig Pickering, ex-drummer for The Dexateens), Matt Patton (Bass Player for Dexateens and Dan Sartain, and Lead Guitarist/Vocalist for Model Citizen), and Ronnie Lee Gipson...they go off live...shit was great. Hans Condor put on a fun damn live show as well

- I smell like bar...I was out late, so I woke up late...which means getting to bed by 9p.m. to be at work tomorrow morning at 6a.m. is gonna be a bitch

- Hand is still swollen, but it's not any worse so I guess that's alright. My fingers feel really stiff in that hand too, not sure if it's because I've been trying to not use it or if maybe I do have arthritis. I'm still really fucking freaked about it though.

- Fucking midterm essay due tomorrow at midnight sucks.

+ Nice day out.

Oh, definitely! I talk to my mom every couple days, we're really close. She knows I appreciate the hell out of her. :)

- I totally didn't get any of my paper done at work yesterday, now I have less than 10 hours until it's due.

+ I work better under pressure, and have gotten about half of it done in 45 minutes.

- Feels like I got wasted last night, even though I only had 3 beers. I'm getting old.

- Still freaking out about my hand, and typing all morning has not helped.

+ Watching Howl's Moving Castle tonight.
