burntwolf
Homosexual sons of unfulfilled fathers. i don't know why that line reminds me of this one Bastard sons begat your cunting daughters, Promiscuous mothers with your incestuous fathers. Engreat souls condemned for all eternity, but it does i haven't heard any of this yet tho... um...so is the springsteen/replacements stuff to get on the gaslight anthem wave or something? no one mentioned that, so maybe not...strange to me so many people are saying green day when talking about against me...hard to imagine... brentoage
is there a decent rip of this out there? the only one that i have heard was 128kbps and it sounds like shitttttt.
mcm1610
My favorite part of the the album is the lack of standout-James parts. "Because of the Shame" is the only song that grabs out at me for some reason, and I have connected it with the Austin Lucas song off Bristle Ridge that starts "A nine-hour bus ride to see a friend of mine..." My friends haven't died or anything, but in the last year I've been having serious guilt issues about disconnecting with people who were my best friends or something. mclz
I haven't heard it yet, but James obviously has a better overall voice than Tom in general.
selfreliable
So far Im not impressed at all. I loved New Wave alot, but most of this sounds like the b-sides to that, which I couldnt get into. I will definitely give it more chances to grow on me, but after the initial listen I was not really into it. Where is this Springsteen feel that people talk about? Or maybe Im just not that familiar with The Boss as I thought I was.

mcm1610
Matt, you didn't like the b-sides? I loved those more than New Wave.

blueeyedtheory
Where is this Springsteen feel that people talk about? Or maybe Im just not that familiar with The Boss as I thought I was. "Because of the Shame" has a huge Springsteen feel to it, in my opinion.
MattyIceyo
Not gonna front, I didn't know AM! until I heard "Searching". I thought it was an interesting listen. I got into their older stuff, and thought it was raw and very punk rock, and could see the growth from RAR to Cowboy to SFAFC. I thought New Wave was good, though Trash was everywhere. I think this album just makes sense in their career. Is it bad or good? It has its moments, but it isn't out of right field for sure. mcm1610
I all of a sudden LOVE the last song, bamboo bones. I was so tired and angry most of yesterday and for some reason I found it extremely soothing.
xadamhudsonx
Found it on Demonoid. It's been on constant replay for me. I wasn't that big a fan of New Wave, but am really liking this new album. acorren1
I all of a sudden LOVE the last song, bamboo bones. Same! I liked this a lot on first listen, but the more I listen to it the more I dig it.
burntwolf
that is prob the song that does the least for me. in fact, the last song on the last 3 records now has been the one i liked the least. ocean is still the worst for me though. i did go back and re-listen to new wave, and i didn't dislike it as much as i did before. i actually went back and listened to all of them in reverse order. the progression is actually there more than i remember. it's just that they bits i was hoping they weren't progressing toward on each record i was probably trying to ignore. haha. i am liking white crosses, suffocation, high pressure low, rapid decompression, teenage anarchist, and spanish moss quite a bit. mcm1610
I don't like White Crosses much for some reason. I like Teenage Anarchist except for the part where the music cuts out and he says "The revolution was a lie" like it's the most profound statement ever. It just bugs me. Suffocation is pretty solid.
