kyle
Don't shoot me, but I've never watched either series. I've seen a total of 1 episode of each and thought they were both hilarious, but I never saw anymore than that. Anyways, I'm going to buy all three seasons of either Arrested Development or The Office (US). Once I'm done with the one I buy first and save up a few more bucks I'll pick up the other set of DVDs, but for now I can only go with ONE of these two shows. Which do I go with? jawbreaker
Arrested Development. I concur. Each episode is so jam-packed with jokes that it takes a couple viewings to catch 'em all.
cadetapplesauce
AD has more interesting storylines. more twists and turns. the office is good, too. but it's been getting weaker, as where AD was solid the whole way through.
adammuzzy
AD, def.
scottheisel
AD, because none of the three seasons are weak. The Office's first season was only decent, and I thought the middle of the third season dragged, too (where they tried to make Karen and Pam friends). Both are still great shows, though. Guest vito
i've only ever caught a few random episodes of AD here and there, and while i do think it's funny, i don't like it as much as the office. since everyone here recommends it though, i will definitely check out the dvds. kurtmanner
i've only ever caught a few random episodes of AD here and there, and while i do think it's funny, i don't like it as much as the office. since everyone here recommends it though, i will definitely check out the dvds. See, here's the thing I always tell people who dislike or are unsure about AD: It wasn't particularly funny on TV (to most people) unless you followed very closely and had a great memory from the episode the week before. So many jokes are dig-ups from previous episodes that it really needs/deserves to be watched in order for as many episodes at a time you feel like. You'll get into it. I've never seen such incredible writing. I do like The Office quite a bit, but I feel like it's a bit contrived sometimes (notably this season) but overall has some hilarious humor and wit. Oh, and definitely go with AD.
steventangent
AD is the best written sitcom I've ever seen.
kirbypuckett
Arrested Development is probably the 2nd greatest TV show in history -- right behind Senfield. I'm an Office fanboiiiiiiiii though.
