oakland
I'll just stick to the punk/indie stuff. Into Another -- both "Ignaurus" and "Seemless" Cave In -- Jupiter The Ocean Blue -- S/T Morrissey -- pretty much everything he ever did Isis -- Oceanic The Promise Ring -- Wood/Water (fuck the haters, this album is unbelievably good) Boy Sets Fire -- Tomorrow Come Today Dag Nasty -- Can I Say Fugazi -- please don't make me choose. Lungfish -- "The Unanimous Hour" but it's pretty hard to choose. Warzone -- "Fight for Justice" The Jesus Lizard -- Goat Kepone -- Ugly Dance Engine Down -- Demure Q and Not U -- Power Red Hot Chili Peppers -- Freaky Stylee, Uplift ... , Mother's Milk, Blood Sugar Sex Magic Quicksand -- Slip Slowdive -- Souvlaki Codeine -- Barely Real, The White Birch, Frigid Stars -- they are all awesome The Mars Volta -- "De-Loused ..." These Arms Are Snakes -- "Tail Swallower..." Sunny Day Real Estate -- "The Pink Album" and "How It Feels To Be Something On" Tad -- "8-way Santa" Tortoise -- "It's all Around You" The Catherine Wheel -- "Wishville" The Llama Farmers -- "El Toppo" -- A totally underrated band Karate -- "in place of real insight," The Bed is In the Ocean," "Pockets," Some Boots." Glorytellers -- "S/T" Ester Drang -- "Infinite Keys" Snowden -- "Anti-Anti" Sweep the Leg Johnny -- "Sto Cazzo" Canyon -- "S/T" Helmet -- another tough one, but I'm going with "Betty" Jawbox -- "Novelty" Shellac -- "1000 Hurts," although Terraform was awesome too Shudder To Think -- "Funeral At The Movies" Smog -- "Wild Love" but they are all awesome as hell Sonic Youth -- "Dirty" and "Sonic Nurse" stick out for me, but you can't deny daydream nation or any of their other stuff either Superchunk -- "Here's where the strings come in" and "indoor living" Afghan Whigs -- they are all so good, but "Black Love" was like the summer of 1997 record for me and a bunch of my friends. I'll think of ten more as soon as I hit send, but this is a pretty good list of my favorites.
