lonesomexloveus
i still do not understand why things are still coming out on cassette tapes. (i realize this may seem hypocritical coming from a collector of records, posting on a record collecting messageboard, but seriously. they're inconvenient, ungainly, and can you even purchase a tape player anymore?) oakland
When I bought my care in 2002 I insisted it have both CD and Cassette players. I had so many dubbed cassettes I couldn't see getting rid of them. Now I hardly use it, but sometimes ... And don't get me started about cassettes. They sound so good compared to a lot of stuff. selfreliable
Whats worse is that tapes break down incredibly easy and get eaten way too often. I dont understand the cassette craze at all.

dangerdave
I actually just bought a cassette last week of Empire! Empire!'s most recent album. It was three bucks and i was ordering the vinyl anyways, so i threw it in my cart. I actually have something to listen to in my car's deck when my FM transmitter dies now, hah. mutinyzine
I like the format, always have. I grew up dubbing tapes and making at least one or two mix tapes per week. I don't know how many hours I spent making my own artwork for mix-tapes and dubbed records back when I was a kid, I loved it. I guess that's the number one reason that I have a cassette only label today, the sentimental value of it. Also, they look awesome and as far as I'm concerned the sound quality can actually be great. Still, vinyl is no. 1 for me and if I can ever afford it, I will release something on vinyl. But right now I wanna spend my money on travelling. Releasing tapes is a fun and cheap thing to do, so why not?
mutinyzine
I'm not getting that JOA box-set though. Don't like the band.
controlthebleeding
I don't like Joan of Arc, but i love making mix tapes for my friends, so i still have my cassette deck and still buy and listen to cassettes. Hell i still have some of my cassettes from the 80's.
silentgods
i have about 130 metal cassettes on a wall. i still listen to them and actually have a little tabletop unit with my old walkman and some speakers.
davezer
The only use I had for a cassette player was in my last car, which i used for an iPod adapter. Not a fan of this format, even though I grew up with it.

jimmythescumbag
I like tapes (I wanted to dub my vinyl to tapes for on the go...down with the mp3! hahaha) and I like Joan of Arc, so I guess I lose two times. If I were super JOA crazy I would pick up that set, but I have a few of the albums on vinyl, which is fine by me...I can make my own box set. mcm1610
cassette haters never owned cassette decks in their cars.Grew up with tapes and hate them. The car I'm driving now is the first of the three I've owned that doesn't have a tape deck. The only use I had for it in those two was the tape adapter for first a discman, then an ipod.
