lonesomexloveus
i was signed into AIM almost constantly when i was in high school/college and it was probably my main form of communication with my friends on campus and from high school. after i graduated, i was on less and less, and now i can't even remember the last time i signed in. if i want to talk to someone now, i either text them, email them, or message them on facebook. so i guess i just traded one electronic form of communication for another. i don't really have time to sit on AIM and talk to people anymore it seems. is it just me, or are you guys not using instant messaging like this as much anymore? kittenmittons
exactly. in high school i lived on MSN messenger/ AIM. i generally avoid them these days. now i just text, tweet, or write creepily on fb walls. oh social networking! fourfourtwo
I only use iChat/AIM now to video chat family members since I moved away. Anyone I would talk to via AIM, I now just text. Its faster and everyone always has their phone on them, as opposed to a computer.
travis
Im always on it when Im at work but if Im not at work I usually just text someone if I need to talk to them
kgry
I used to be always signed on with my phone but I rarely bother anymore.
Guest
I haven't actively used AIM in over 3 years. I still instant message close friends with Pidgin using my Google account. Everything else is through Facebook, though.
destroyingthescene
I'm occasionally signed into iChat from time to time but it was never popular up here in Canada so it's just used for video chatting family members or chatting with colleagues during conference calls and reports. lonesomexloveus
i used to put so much thought into my away messages. i had one for every day of the week with all my different classes when i was in college. and then a kajillion with song lyrics. soooooo emo. Dillhole
Like everyone else, I was on it constantly through high school and college. I really haven't touched it in about a year. I don't do the social networking things, so the phone has taken over. I remember the days sitting in my room during Jr. High School, a record playing next to me sitting at the computer with like a dozen IM windows going while I was supposed to be doing homework or something. haha
thisisahiijack
i have the AIM iphone app but anytime i decide to open it up there is nobody actually online at the time.
thrillho
Facebook status updates are the new AIM away messages. In the sense that people check them over and over and over.
Guest kylewilliam
still keep it on all the time on my digsby with msn, googletalk, and facebook chat
roadmonkey
Most of the people I still keep in touch with have moved to Google Talk. The people who are still on my AIM I hardly talk to them any more anyways.. They can always reach me on facebook or something.
000000
being a college student, i still have friends who use it, but the appeal is slowly waining now that Facebook pretty much does the same exact thing. Probably post-college it'll gradually disappear from my computer usage.
xfedaykinx
once i stopped using AIM i started to block all other forms of chatting communication. i'm invisible on gchat and block facebook chat. i have no need for some random from high school to be chatting me up on facebook trying to "catch up." there's a reason we don't talk anymore, weirdo. rkfoster8
I have AIM but only because a Swedish friend of mine told me to download it so we could keep in contact. Other than that I rarely ever use it now. Skype is the new hot thing now and I don't even use that. I'm sure once I move out of state for good I'll start using that but for now, it doesn't appeal to me.
benchwarmer
always on at work, never on at home.
kirbypuckett
I uninstalled Digsby off of my PC when they had some malware / user security issues and I haven't looked back. I don't use Facebook Chat unless someone random messages me. I Google Chat w/ a few people during work -- I always have gmail open, but that's it. I was a freak about Away Messages back in the day too.
mcm1610
I don't have that on my computer, but I use AOL for my mail, so when I'm logged into my email I'm on AIM, but I haven't given or received a message in over a year. I used to always have it open ,and can remember times where my whole screen would be filled up with active conversations for house. I talk to like 2 or 3 people on facebook chat, but mostly I text peeps. I use facebook wall posts for asinine shit.
jurrobear
I have my iChat open on my computer when I'm at home, it's easier to chat on their than on fb chat.
Snaggle Von Swift
i'm usually signed on, because it loads/logs in when my comp starts, but it's minimized to my task bar and I don't ever pay attention to it.
saxamaphone
I log in every 5-6 months and then remember that no one i know uses it anymore.

theambulancereview
I haven't used it recently at all. Dan can attest to this. We used to chat all the time.
j4m35
facebook weirds me out, so i rarely communicate with people on there. there are only like 5-7 or so people on my buddy list that i actually talk to. even when i'm online i am usually invisible. i don't really stay up late having ~emotional conversations like i did in high school on AIM
