patron
I posted this on the Fatwreck wiki, but it seems to be dead over there. A friend of mine and I debating which band of Fat Wreck has sold the most records. He says Lagwagon, and I say NOFX. Does anyone have any specific numbers, or even insider info on this? Keep in mind that we're talking releases ON Fat Wreck (no Punk in Drublic, etc).
kyacrash
don't have any facts, but I'd guess NOFX, even without epitaph's releases....people love them for some reason
eddieruckus
nofx without a doubt
scottheisel
Most of one individual record, or most of a band's entire catalog on Fat? If it's the latter, I'd definitely say Lagwagon or Me First And The Gimme Gimmes. NOFX's most popular releases were on Epitaph.

suburbanargyle
I'd imagine Rise Against has sold a lot, but they only have 2 albums on Fat.
thebiglebowski
My guess would be NOFX. Would be interesting to see gross sales as well as sales / album, sales / 7", and highest selling individual records. Even if the individual numbers were kept secret, the order without the numbers would be interesting. Hope someone from fat sees this. thebiglebowski
I'd imagine Rise Against has sold a lot, but they only have 2 albums on Fat. I wouldn't be surprised if RPM was the highest selling album fat ever released.
dynamitekid
If you are going to include Lagwagon, then I would put Strung Out up there too.

ihprstl
I read a story several years ago that Strung Out was the biggest selling Fat band, besides NOFX.
almightyseancore
Hi-Standard. Lol
travis
Yea NOFX has to have sold way more than any other band on Fat. I dont think any other band would even be close.
flood
nofx also has more releases than any band on fat.. theres like 20+ 7 alone. altho Me First would probably be a solid choice too... everyone bought that first album
sharkie
i think NOFX is probably right, but those two Against Me! albums probably sold a bit too - more than Lagwagon or Strung Out
deville
I'd say Less Than Jake's - Borders & Boundaries cause they just came off Capitol and ska was still sorta the fad then in late 90's
sirrichardrichard
Knowing absolutely nothing about the situation, I would say "I Heard They Suck Live", followed by Have a Ball or Hoss. Post 1999 the game changed, with downloading and all - I'm sure that had a huge effect on everything. EDIT: Whoops, I reread the original post - NOFX by far
flood
actually now that i think about it.. if we're talking straight sales numbers and not $$.... i bet those $4 fat comps probably dwarf everything by a lot. i know my best selling record by far was a $1 sampler we did for warped 2003. and thats about 3x the sales of any other title we did
scottheisel
Yea NOFX has to have sold way more than any other band on Fat.I dont think any other band would even be close. I really don't think so, man. Fat's biggest releases were all back in the '90s—they were doing over a hundred thousand copies of Lagwagon, Strung Out, Good Riddance, etc.—even shit like Hi-Standard was selling well. NOFX didn't release a proper record there until, what, 2003? And the days of anything on Fat selling over 100,000 copies have been gone for a long time. I remember reading somewhere a few years back that the Me First records were some of the biggest sellers in Fat's catalog, specifically the first three before downloading really hit. I'm sure that band's moved close to 1 million records by themselves on Fat, whereas I doubt the three NOFX LPs on Fat have even hit 500,000. jcamps
I'd say Less Than Jake's - Borders & Boundaries cause they just came off Capitol and ska was still sorta the fad then in late 90's I doubt, Less Than Jake have said that fans hated that album when it came out and didn't start liking it til way later.
