kirbypuckett
There's talk the Pens might not be able to afford Malkin given their situation with Staal and other young players being ready to re-up soon. Should be interesting if he's willing to take a little less than market for his services to stay with Pitt. Everything that I've been hearing is that we're going to do our best to keep him. Burkle, the owner, came to PGH after the Hossa trade and rumor has it that they're going to spend to the cap the next few seasons, because we'll profit from the new stadium in a couple of years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
so any idea when the pens will be palying their 1st game of the playoffs? 9th or 10th???
destroyingthescene
Fuckballs, my Canucks are out of the playoffs! 15 minutes of powerplay time you fucktards, I hope you enjoy the early spring.
mcm1610
Oops, Sabres forgot to make the playoffs. See you guys in October!

bruins4ever
^^ As of right now, ya, that would be it. What a series that'd be, just unbelievable.
jbrns7
Caps need to win and Boston lose so I can see the Pens!
mcm1610
I hope Buffalo plays spoilers. Last thing Boston needs is another successful team.
forgeagain
Wow, nothing like seeing the Blackhawks get eliminated the night before they play said team who eliminates them. If Nashville had lost last night, the Hawks could win out and get in. The game against Detroit on Sunday could have been the best game ever. Now it's meaningless. We'll see but if Malkin wants money in the Sid or Ovechkin range, something you could argue he deserves, and then you try to re-sign Hossa and he wants fair market value you have a ton tied up in only three players with a few other young guys coming due soon. Its more cap issue than an available fund issues. I hope he stays in Pitt but it'll be interesting how the Pens handle it so they don't end up like Tampa Bay with most of their money in three players. andrew13
anyone see Carcillo KO Barych last night? that was great. i love daniel, wish he was still here with the Pens. he got screwed and never got a real shot with the pens. his rookie season down at WBS was fun as hell to watch. andrew13
malkin will still be on his rookie contract next year, so they can use the $8 million saved their and use it on Hossa for a 1 year deal with the pens to repeat for the cup
sgoodcore
Okay Carcillo is such a punk and such a dangerous player. I mean at least he'll fight but he takes cheaps shots and until he quits that shit he's right there with Jordan Tootoo.
andrew13
carcillo plays with an edge like Ruutu, but i respect him much more than any other agitator. he fights a ton and will go with anyone. hollweg, avery, tootoo, tucker, ruutu, and half the flyers will play chippy then bitch out. not carcillo. i've never once seen him back down. he's always shorter and lighter and stilll manages to win most of his fights, or at least put on a good show. sgoodcore
carcillo fights, this much is true and for that he gets some respect however he's a dangerous player he looks to hurt people. not hit hard mind you, hurt people.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love ruutu, he's a tough player but he's not an asshole tough player, ya know?
kirbypuckett
Ruutu's the biggest asshole in the world and that is why I love him.
andrew13
i love ruutu too, but him coming here sealed carcillo's fate. the kid had 2 amazing camps, and they went out and signed petro and ruutu to do his job.
sgoodcore
Ruutu's the biggest asshole in the world and that is why I love him. Same reason Avery was fun to watch during his time in LA. Well that and you'd get the occasional Cuthbert sighting.
destroyingthescene
I miss not having Ruutu on my team, I love how his shit-eating grin would incite a line brawl. He is the reason I'm pulling for the Pens to make some noise, though whoever comes out on top on the East will probably just get trounced by San Jose. kirbypuckett
Holy shit. The playoffs are NUTS! The Pens are playing these teams 50% chance: Philly 33% chance: Ottawa 15% chance: Boston FUCK I HATE PHILLY
kirbypuckett
PENS VS SENS! THE REMATCH! Sens have been the worst team in the NHL since New Years and they're w/out their #1 player. OOOOOOH IT'S GOING TO BE SWEET!
