tussin
So the November issue of Alternative Press has a listing for this release coming out Nov. 8th. Has anybody heard any info about this thing? Pat, care to comment? First the Lagwagon Box & now this. Fat is not fucking around this November. geezfools
they were pretty heavy last year around this time, wouldn't surprise me. I may jump on this depending on cost....
trevorm
Mike made light of this during an interview that brought up the release of the (I'm assuming, shitty) demo a while back. He said it's probably going to see the light of the day in (I'm paraphrasing) some shitty box set. So this is probably it.

mclz
That's 18 7"s for anyone bad at math.
scottheisel
This has been pushed. It's not coming out Nov. 8 anymore.
bowserhound
I count 14 previous NOFX 7" on fat. Then there's the split with Drowning Roses. Can't think of anything else though. That would account for everything 7" that they released minus the 7" of the month club. Smells like a repress box set a la Lagwagon.

dutchrudder
Man, my respect for Fat has declined significantly the past year or so; and this doesn't help.
trevorm
Man, my respect for Fat has declined significantly the past year or so; and this doesn't help.A release that incorporates a re-release of a shit ton of material that wasn't readily available (probably at a reasonable price)? Fuck, I hate them too because of it.
darrvison
Man, my respect for Fat has declined significantly the past year or so; and this doesn't help. i'm sure your opinion really bothers them as well... : keen as for this thanks for the update! clydethejackal
Cool. I was thinking about going for the Lagwagon box but may go for this instead. Not really sure. Really looking forwrd to hearing some more details about it. Anybody have an idea how many songs there would be that aren't already included on "45 or 46..." and "The Longest EP"? stickininmyeye
The Lagwagon boxset has tons of unreleased/demos/acoustic songs added to every album. There's no reason that a NOFX set wouldn't do the same.

I work for Alternative Press, I'm the one who included the info in the mag originally. Fat actually just got a hold of me yesterday to let me know it was pushed back. I don't really know anything else about it besides the title.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
I am pro this. If a label can make some money by making awesome packages of their bigger bands then they can take a chance on putting out a release that probably will lose them money. One Hundred Fifty-Two
It just seems like overkill to me, but if people buy it then what the hey I'm sure as hell not going to buy it, but there are people that will.
thebear
I missed the boat on a ton of NOFX releases because I got into collecting late in the game, same with Lagwagon, so these are great for me because I get entire discographies, and they're colored. Trying to hunt down colored versions of their old records would cost me waaaay more than these box sets. Of course, now I'm contemplating getting a second job to AFFORD the boxsets...but that's another thing entirely.
bowserhound
yea, Fat really needs some money.
moonbeams
Yes, they do. The whole point of a business is to make money. More money means more releases, happier employees and more money for promotion which means more people can get turned onto the artform. Good for Fat for taking advantage of all of this. Fartcat
I can't wait to buy this.
shenanigans
how is this gouging people anymore than any other boxset? if you don't want it don't buy it.
thebear
how is this gouging people anymore than any other boxset? if you don't want it don't buy it. BUT THEN WHAT WILL PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT?!
AlexH.
To me, "if you don't like it don't buy it" is analogous to rappers branding anyone who dislikes their work as "haters". It's a lazy deflection, and serves to make the speaker look ignorant. There is nothing wrong with making a valid criticism about a band, label, or release. Not every reaction has to be "OMG so excited but my bank account will be mad at me LOL". Fat has been taking advantage of their most rabid fans for a while now (charging more for color, the hardcore 7"/10"/12", colored reissues of in-print records) and I don't really see anything wrong with it. People can continue to feel like they need to buy dumb shit, and I will continue to buy reasonably priced LPs of releases I am interested in.
