mcm1610
I cannot handle most "scary" movies. They're just too comical and I can't suspend my disbelief too much. For something like 28 Days Later, I can believe that a disease changes people into zombie-like dudes without much effort. Same thing for The Walking Dead. For Halloween, it doesn't take much to believe a big quiet dude holds grudges and kills people. But like... you start venturing into some of the stuff and I just can't buy it. xadamhudsonx
My all time favourite is still the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Sleepaway camp isn't a great flick on it's own, but probably has my favorite twist ending to any slasher movie ever.
kriss
Halloween (the original has been a favorite since I was a kid) Halloween II Zombi (or Zombie II - they liked marketing this one under tons of guises) Night of The Living Dead (original and 1990 remake) Dawn of The Dead (original and 2004 remake) Day of The Dead Land of The Dead (say what you will, I enjoyed it) Diary of The Dead (same) Return of The Living Dead Return of The Living Dead 3 (so bad, but so good) Re-Animator Nightmare City (zombies who rip open lady's shirts and stab them in the chest - if you're inclined to drink, make a game of it, you'll be gone by the end of the film) The Fog (original - the antagonists are kinda cheesy but the atmosphere of this film is amazing) The Others (I hate Nicole Kidman, but again, this movie is so thick with atmosphere and has a crazy palatable sense of dread and tension. So good). Creepshow The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) Carnival of Souls (one of my all time favorites) Tenebre (Dario Argento beats out Lucio Fulci in my opinion as a master of Italian Horror and suspense - this is a perfect example) Vampyre Zombie City of the living dead Another Fulci fan. Good stuff!
hudsoncomplex
Another Fulci fan. Good stuff! I'm going to a 30th Anniversary screening of House by the Cemetery on October 22nd, pretty excited about it!
kriss
the Music Box here in Chicago does a 24 hour horror marathon around Halloween - I'd be stoked if they showed this or any other Fulci or Argento there.

kriss
So to those who watch dead alive, do u kick ass for the lord? It's not the goriest film I've ever seen, but when I first watched it, I had to turn it off (the pus in the pudding scene) and come back to it later. The lawnmower scene is worth the whole movie though.
