Guest
I have a feeling that I'll be approaching this the same way I did yeezus and arrested development s4- spacing out during my first time through and then immediately revisiting to take it all in. hudsoncomplex
Going to see this tonight at 7:30. We're wading to the 19+ theatre where they serve alcohol. Yahoo!
partysmasher
BUMMER ALERT! I saw this last night and while there were some really funny bits, on the whole i thought it was bad, almost as if they just went through the first film, noted down which bits were most popular, then did them again except not nearly as well. It's too long and generally not that funny and this is from someone who LOVED the first one. morfiend

Guest
i consider the first one the funniest movie i've ever seen. and i already noted a lot of caution going into this one. that said, i told my friends as we left the theater "i'm not disappointed!" i don't think they ruined anything by doing this, and it got steady laughter out of me. the story was fucking ridiculous, but of course it was. thebiglebowski
I'm still going to see it, just not in a rush to get to the theater after hearing initial reviews.
TFP
I think the last Will Ferrel movie I have whole heartedly enjoyed was Elf. I don't know if it's Adam McKay's fault because he seems to write all of Will's movies. I do understand that Adam wrote on SNL but recently it's like ho hum. hippielauryn
I'm with Ry Toast on this one. I was not disappointed at all. Solid movie and of course it will continue to get better the more you watch it. I need to go see it again. Went with a bunch of friends and did the Anchorman then Anchorman 2 marathon. I was ridiculously stoned and drunk the entire time, but I remember having a blast and laughing a lot. Good times indeed.
cesar11
saw this on Tuesday night at a 9PM showing. Thought it was hilarious and for sure not better than the first. The cameos had me dying of laughter but apparently there were a few people who are in it that me and the gf do not remember seeing at all. Thanks a lot, marijuana. thebiglebowski
So you have to see it high to think its funny?
hippielauryn
So you have to see it high to think its funny? No. As long as you enjoy Will Ferrell it will be funny.

sacredheart
If I dont like Will Ferrell or Steve Carell, but found the Anchorman to be ridiculously funny, am I going to enjoy this or not?
thebiglebowski
How could anyone not like Will Ferrell? Funniest dude of the last 15 years. hippielauryn and Tommy
Guest
i thought they were heavy on brick. especially since it was kind of the same schtick the whole time. i did love the weird hand on the shoulder thing he kept doing though.
ronniegwilliams
I hope it's not like Hangover 2 where they just retell the same jokes
Guest
they use a lot of the same gags- but not jokes.

morfiend
Saw it yesterday and thought it was just ok. This was probably the quietest theater I've been in when seeing a comedy, didn't seem like very many people were laughing. It took me a couple of viewings to really enjoy the first one so hopefully the 2nd one will have the same affect.
