tylervagyler
Underoath call it a day. Below is the official release from the band. I'm assuming this will be pressed on vinyl but pre-orders have not been announced yet. UNDERØATH will cap its incredible run with the release of a career retrospective album, Anthology 1999-2013 – released November 6 on Solid State Records. With tracks culled from their 1999 debut, Act of Depression, through the instant classics on 2010’s Ø (Disambiguation), Anthology 1999-2013 is an essential collection of songs that celebrates the evolution of this seminal band.Pushing Anthology 1999-2013 beyond a mere retrospective, the release gives fans one last chance to hear newly recorded material in the form of new tracks “Sunburnt” and “Unsound.” Recorded with longtime producer Matt Goldman, the two new songs represent the final material recorded by the band. More information will be released next week.
Guest
Dang. Not a big fan anymore, but loved them a few years ago.
rawker31
That's too bad. Their popularity has gone down significantly so I understand.
mmhmm
Aaron leaving the band signaled what I think was the beginning of the end for these guys.
rand0mher0
Can't say I'm surprised, started going downhill after DTGL. Their time was up.
dreamover
I'm assuming this will be pressed on vinyl why?
Guest
i just recently checked out Disambiguation and thought it was a solid album, but i guess i was in the minority.
tylervagyler
why? Because there is a huge market for it right now? And almost all of their releases were pressed?
yocaseycasey
Emily and Aaron's wife text alllllllllllll the time. They're besties from across the country.
drewberinger
damn, this sucks, they were only getting stronger musically as a band IMO.
mattisr1984
for a band that had nearly sold 100k CDs in one week (due in large part to the popularity of TOCS), they went in a direction musically that was not going to sustain the expectations of that fanbase. theyve got my respect for playing what they wanted to play. AlexH.
Because there is a huge market for it right now? And almost all of their releases were pressed? It's a greatest hits album. No point to its existence, especially when everything but Define The Great Line is in print now. I'd much rather see a repress of DTGL. dreamover
Because there is a huge market for it right now? And almost all of their releases were pressed? when has tooth & nail EVER pressed a greatest hits record on vinyl? until anything's announced this should go in the everything else section. what's so hard about that? bigbruise
If they re-recorded all these songs then I'd pick it up on vinyl. Otherwise I'll just make this a playlist. Edit. Actually this a terrible idea, no Dallas on the old tracks and the newer ones wouldn't need it. Fucking stupid.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Were these tracks released on different labels? That could prevent a vinyl release.
dreamover
sort of. the early tracks came out on takehold, which got bought out by tooth & nail. i'm pretty sure tooth & nail owns the masters. but if they come out on cd, there's no reason they couldn't come out on vinyl. but why would this come out on vinyl when tooth & nail just reissued their two most wanted records on vinyl. why would anyone want to listen to this on vinyl? mattisr1984
just press the two new songs on a 7" and call it a day. ajismetal
phoenixinflight
One of my favourite heavy bands. I agree that things didn't work out so well after Aaron left, but Disambiguation still holds its own. The news sucks, though.
FlippingOut
Gotta love the last ditch money grab tooth and nail always does for their bigger bands. RIP Underoath I was consistently rocking your stuff since The Changing of Times

kforkevin777
All I want is a pressing of Acts of Depression and Cries of the Past. Leave the Greatest Hits albums to The Eagles.
ajismetal
Living in Tampa Florida, and seeing/having small talk with the guys out at bars and shows over the years, you could tell that they were ready to move on and be husbands and fathers. Not to mention a few of them have their side projects. Furthermore, the last two hometown shows they've played since Aaron left have been far from sold out. Overall I am really sad to hear about them breaking up. Underoath was definitely an influential band for me and helped me mature to what music I love today. I Have a lot of memories with all of their records and I am very happy that I was able to grab TOCS from SRC a few weeks ago. That and Define are definitely gems in my small but growing collection. Anyways, thanks for letting me vent about Underoath. Just one of those bands that truly inspired me and has helped me get through a lot of tough times.
