Out of all the stores I went to in SF, Portland, And Seattle, Mississippi Records was by far my favorite. They have some really good deals in there sometimes on used stuff, and new stuff is always reasonably priced. They have their own in house label that puts out some stellar stuff. BUT The thing I like most about the store is the vibe though. It's so laid back and the staff is super nice, if slightly stand-offish until you talk to them. I never thought I could pull off blue glasses, but these quickly became my favorite pair that I own. I also have another pair of these in tortoiseshell. When I was there they had an old blues record playing and I could smell breakfast foods being made in the cafe they share a building with. It's the kind of place I could go and dig through records for a couple hours, sit down at a turntable and listen to some of the records I found, and talk to the clerk about music for a while.
