andrewlucas
I was wondering if anyone had any tricks for taking the price stickers off the cover of records. I bought a Metric album from a local store and they put the price tag right on the cover. I rubbed it off with white vinegar but there is still a sticky residue. Any tips? makeshiftrigger
Rubbing alcohol. Use to do that to get PA stickers off CDs when I was little so my dad wouldn't get pissed
saxonviolons
Goo Gone
mindovermatter
Goo Gone Just be very conservative with Goo Gone or it will leave a terrible residue on certain types of jackets. I don't have any Metric so I can't speak to that. I would go with alcohol, personally.
chamb117
lighter fluid and tea tree oil are good alternatives to rubbing alcohol if you don't have it
TFP
I like to use rubbing alcohol also, just conservatively.

youspinmeround
I use a razor blade when this happens. As long as the sticker is somewhat recent and dried on it comes off with min reside and than just a quick wipe down
gabpower
Heat it a bit with a hair dryer. Peel the sticker off. Clean with lighter fluid or alcohol.
kjkenney
yeah I do hair dryer or a heat gun. same goes for repairing old jackets where the adhesive has come undone. works like a charm

andrewlucas
I do not have lighter fluid. I used goo gone on a ill Kim LP I bought from a store for $4 and it took the color off. Now there's a big white smudge. I would have rather had the sticker. So goo gone is a no go. I don't think I have rubbing alcohol either... Thanks for the suggestions though. Ill try them out. nothingnatural
yeah I do hair dryer or a heat gun. same goes for repairing old jackets where the adhesive has come undone. works like a charm This is the same method I've always used. Just make sure to take the LP(s) out of the cover first (common sense should prevail here). Edit - And remember not to hold the hair dryer/heat gun over the sticker for too long as that can make matters worse.
