Brock N Roll
Just won free tickets to go see Green Day tomorrow night. I only listened to Uno once or twice and never got around to listening to Dos or Tre so hopefully I will still enjoy the show. I don't know how many shows they've played lately with Billie Joe going to rehab or whatever but has anyone seen them recently? They still play a good mix or older stuff or do they stick to American Idiot and after for the majority of it?

scottheisel
I saw them at SXSW and they were AWESOME. Played a little over two hours, the set started off with 7-8 new songs from Uno/Dos/Tre and a few singles off 21st Century Breakdown and American Idiot, then the extra members left the stage and Billie Joe put on his classic blue and white guitar and we were treated to 5-6 Dookie songs, a few Kerplunk songs and even a track off 39/Smooth. They sounded super-tight, too. Here was the setlist from the show I saw: 99 Revolutions Know Your Enemy Stay the Night Stop When the Red Lights Flash Letterbomb Stray Heart Oh Love Holiday Boulevard of Broken Dreams Burnout Welcome to Paradise Christie Road Coming Clean Disappearing Boy Sweet Child o' Mine / Highway to Hell Brain Stew St. Jimmy Longview Basket Case She King for a Day Shout / Stand by Me / Hey Jude X-Kid Minority Encore: American Idiot Jesus of Suburbia Brutal Love
marc32137
They've only played a couple small SXSW shows and club dates since he got out rehab. Tonight's the first night of the arena tour, I believe.
taylo234
I'm seeing them in LA in April. Every setlist I've seen they always tend to do a good mix of new and old. My friend went to their small show in Pomona after the whole rehab thing, and she said they sounded better then every other time shes seen them. Brock N Roll
I would be happy to see that SXSW set that Scott posted. I never thought they would be playing songs like "coming clean" but that is awesome turnstiles
taylo234
Yeah lately they've been touching on Kerplunk and 1039. Really cool they aren't just sticking to radio singles.
amnstypls
If I went and saw Green Day, and they didn't play When I Come Around, I'd be fucking furious.
scottheisel
If I went and saw Green Day, and they didn't play When I Come Around, I'd be fucking furious. True, but they also didn't play "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "21 Guns" or "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" and they DID play "Christie Road," "Coming Clean" and "Disappearing Boy." So the fact that they skipped over massive singles to play some seriously deep cuts earns my respect. TheMoosen
marc32137
That "King For A Day/Shout" medley has got to have run its course by now, right?
hipsterasfolk
That is a crazy long set list!
scottheisel
That "King For A Day/Shout" medley has got to have run its course by now, right? You'd think so, but people still went nuts for it.
Brock N Roll
Yeah I would MUCH rather hear some deeper cuts over some of the big singles. I'd love to see some random songs from Insomniac and wait for it.....warning (yes, I enjoyed that album)
amnstypls
Haha Green Day and "deep cuts."
openupyourskull
I'm seeing them in a couple weeks and I'm interested how the setlist will develop for the arena tour. So far the ones from the club shows are looking pretty good.
jase
They didn't play the grouch? Hey green day if you're reading this, just play insomniac start to finish and the grouch. I'd pay a fuckton of cash to see that marc32137
jvphotoandvideo
They didn't play the grouch? Hey green day if you're reading this, just play insomniac start to finish and the grouch. I'd pay a fuckton of cash to see that I've been dying to hear them play The Grouch. That show they did at the echo was weird. SO much new stuff and too many fucking phones in the air. Not to mention the whole "I'm making fuck sounds on stage" thing is just getting weird.

Brock N Roll
Went tonight and even without knowing any of the newer songs, it was pretty great. First time I've seen Green Day since 04. I forgot how great Billie Joe can command a crowd
