emokid9963
It was from someone in New York, and I'm in Florida. To my knowledge it should have been here already.

Media mail is cheap and effective, at least in my experience. Then again, I always use tracking/delivery confirmation because it's worth the extra 90 cents. jhulud
Media mail is hit or miss. I'm in Florida. I've had it get here in three days from Boston and sometimes two weeks from Colorado. So yeah. Luck of the draw.

minor incident
I've had everything from 2 days for FL to NJ, to 2 weeks for Chicago to NJ. Media mail still rocks for bang-for-your-buck, though.

Brock N Roll
You just never know what you're going to get dealing with these bastards at USPS
hokusman
I have my vinyl shipped to the office where i work. Mailman also likes to stuff my 7" records into my tiny mailbox. Nothing broken, but surprising they weren't. Though I think the woman who hands out the mail at the office is getting tired of delivering my records to me. minor incident
My USPS guy is pretty rad. He usually sees me when I'm taking my dog for his morning walk and hands over my records then. My UPS guy is also pretty great, but UPS is fucking ridiculously overpriced for mailing records.

I just think its the shit town I live in.
circuit bored records
Not to jack this thread, but I didn't want to make a new one. But does Media Mail blow for anyone else? I got sent a record on the 20th and it is still not here... What gives?Sometimes packages get routed through sorting facilities on the other side of the country with media mail, it's not unheard of. One time I sent something from LA to SF and it ended up going to new jersey before making it back to its destination. Took an extra week and half to go there and back. Another time a package that was supposed to also stay on the west coast ended up going through Oklahoma. Oh the fun of tracking numbers! But I've been told by a usps worker that most sorting facilities use computers to scan zip codes and sometimes a "9" can get mistaken for a "0," etc. he said the error is more likely to happen if the address is handwritten because of inconsistencies in everyone's writing. Ever since then I type and print all my addresses out and haven't run into the same problem since. Or if you are going to write it out make sure it's super legible. Best advice I can give. Also, fuckin' USPS.

paranoidantroyd
So if I shipped a package with tracking and the recipient returns the item to the PO and "refuses" it, will I be able to track it on its way back to me?

I would try here: https://www.usps.com/customer-service/customer-service.htm
paranoidantroyd
I would try here: https://www.usps.com/customer-service/customer-service.htm Yea, I'm sure to get a quick answer from them at 8pm.
minor incident
Hell, half the time you can't even actually track it on its way TO the original recipient. Edit: Why not just try putting in the tracking number on the website to see what happens?

rambo
USPS doesn't give a fuck about refused packages. I'd be surprised if you see that package before months end.
