roadmonkey
UFOMAMMUT are finally touring the States you guys! UFOMAMMUT: First North American Tour Announced Including Support From Usnea; Fourth Ecate Making-Of Episode Released With the details of their upcoming seventh studio full-length album, Ecate, having been recently unveiled, Italian mystical doom trio, UFOMAMMUT, finally announces their official first-ever tour of North America today, something diehard fans of this colossal outfit have been awaiting anxiously for years. Now more than fifteen years into their time together as UFOMAMMUT, the band’s only prior US outings were two live shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco in 2009 in conjunction with their crushing Idolum LP. Since Idolum, the band’s popularity has grown exponentially, through the magic of their Eve LP, their signing with Neurosis’ label, Neurot Recordings for the 2012 release of their two-part ORO LP, and their following 2013-released XV DVD through their own Supernatural Cat Records. The desire to witness the outfit crafting its psychedelic and decimating craft in the flesh has become nearly overwhelming for stateside fans, but a shift in the tides this Spring will bring a major change as the trio invades American soil for their first-ever widespread US tour in the months ahead.Initiated by their anticipated performance at this year’s Maryland Deathfest with lablemates Yob, Neurosis and countless others, UFOMAMMUT’s month-long North America Spring 2015 tour has now been declared. The trek will begin in Chicago on May 13th, with Relapse Records’ crushing Portland, Oregon-based cosmic sludge quartet, Usnea, providing direct support for the entire tour, which comes to a close in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 13th, including two shows in Canada. The trek will be preceded by a European tour alongside the UK’s Conan, consuming the latter half of April and including appearances at both of this year’s Desertfest events in London and Berlin.Today also sees the release of the fourth video episode into the making-of UFOMAMMUT’s new album, Ecate, set for North American release on March 31st through Neurot Recordings. On the follow-up to their acclaimed ORO album, the trio takes a confident step forward with their craft, orchestrating atmospheric processions that take the six songs on the album to places as-of-yet uncharted, the only guide being that of Ecate, the three-sided goddess who moves between the realms of the living, the dead, and the gods. The latest installment showcases the layering of the dense guitar tones, as always with sound wizard Lorenzo Stecconi, for these sessions using his mobile studio at SOMS "Il Progresso" in Sarezzano, Italy. Watch Ecate’s guitars become realized with episode four RIGHT HERE: Catch up on the recording of the drums, bass and more with part 1, part 2 and part 3 as well. serious business
UFOMAMMUT are finally touring the States you guys! Ugh. They're playing my favorite venue in my old home town, and one of my least favorite here in Portland. I think I'll probably go to this, all the same. serious business
Sounds like you may just need to make a trip back to your home town?? Ha! Nooooo thanks. I lived in Rochester, NY, so that's quite a trek. Plus, in May it could still be snowing there. Fuckkkkkk Rochester.
Twistedshabazz
There is no shame in rollling to a show solo. Do it alot to this genre because most dont like it. Rather go then miss out and potentially not see them ever. Wish thay tour was coming near me. Playing a hole in the wall in cleveland when they could do the same thing i pittsburgh but NOOOOOOOOOO
JoToRoBo
No one ever comes to TN. All Them Witches hardly play here, and they are from Nashville!

Damn that's far.. I wish my brother was more into this stuff, I'd hook you two up to hit up shows together as he lives in Houston.
QUA1L
I ride solo to shows frequently. Driven as far as Chicago which is 6 hours, rented a car though. My truck could make it, but at 8 mpg it's cheaper to rent one. Sometimes the band is worth it. In this case, it's worth it. I'll drive 3 hours on this trek to St Paul. whoshotthefrog
I've been a fan of Ufomammut since Godlike Snake came out almost 15 years ago. Super stoked to see them since they have only come to the U.S.A. only one time and that was for a small West Coast tour. Plus Usnea is supporting them so that is fucking awesome. I'm definitely going to order my tickets after work today.
Twistedshabazz
Yeah i agree i would never treck far distances for a show by myself. Unless its within 45 minute radius im not going alone. Id treck to cleveland alot before i lived there because cleveland got everything. Farthest i drove was philly for nick cave this summer and that was 6 hours.
RustyShackelford
I really don't mind going to shows alone. I've driven 4 hours each way alone a few times before. Luckily most of the shows I go to are in Houston and only an hour and a half away. I'm also lucky that my girlfriend and I have very similar taste in music so she's usually more than willing to tag along with me unless she has to work early the next day

CaptainHerbalLife
If you really want to match it up, you've gotta get an "indica" colored one, like this fella has. (not a photo of mine, just snagged off the internet.) This is actually why I ended up getting green/green instead of blue/black. I remember not being impressed by that indica colour. Out of that press for some reason the Hasheeshian version seemed more intruiguing, having been referenced in the lyrics and all. Now that I look at it, it looks quite good. Marbled green is what it would be called in layman's terms I guess. Although I haven't come across a bud looking like quite that, I think Bongzilla's Methods was done a bit better as an attempt at doing weed-coloured vinyl. CaptainHerbalLife
Oh, also. I've got this weird thing that heavier music for me seems to be most appropriate on darker coloured vinyl. (Also the reason why ambient music on clear vinyl always gets me) That's why I initially preferred the hashieeshian version. Hash just seems murkier and heavier in general, like the riffs themselves. Commence vinyl porn.
