Thrice55
Totally fake
Thrice55
Now let me clarify... Mark Cuban has attached his name to this, so automatically I must hate it. But for serious, I'm 100% guessing this is a marketing ploy. Maybe Back to the Future 4 or something along those lines.
cannonball
Does Back to the Future 4 really need all of this? I mean I think a trailer would be sufficient. But I do think these hoverboards are fake! That would be awesome to have one though.
andrewlucas
Wouldn't it be amazing if it were real though. Probably a couple grand though.
anthemforadoomed
Yeah it's very unfortunately super fake. I wish it wasn't though! The technology isn't at that level and probably won't ever be. Who could afford something with more technology stuffed in it than a NASA satellite?
elgato48
I could have sworn I read somewhere that this was already proved to be fake. Unless it was a different hover board thing
slinch
I'd say it has something to do with this: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1734489/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_6
doomcreep
Yeah, I heard this was related to a Funny Or Die viral thing. There are many clear cues in the vid that point to it being fake. It's fun as hell though.
futures
Aw that was fun to watch, haha. I love how they were marketing it for a release in Dec 2014 to keep the BTTF timeline alive.

horrorbusiness138
Wouldn't it be amazing if it were real though. Probably a couple grand though. A couple grand? If it were real I'd say closer to the 5-10k range.
thoughtsky
This would be technology that wouldn't even fit into a smaller plane. And when you say 5-10k you better add a few zeroes I guess But the dreams this video produced in some of us was definitely worth it. Maybe we will have something like this in 30 years
andrewlucas
Yup. They all released "apology" videos saying it was a fake publicity stunt by funny or die. They show clips of them using the wire harness. YouTube it.

futures
An apology? Were people really that butthurt over it?
daegor
An apology? Were people really that butthurt over it? The apology was just as staged as the original video. However, go to their Facebook page and read some comments, some people were really upset, hahaha.
kyacrash
I don't really understand this "prank". By no means was it really believable, but it wasn't obviously fake either. If it was supposed to be a joke why wasn't it funny? Is there still more to come? I just don't get it... Although it would be cool to win the pink hoverboard signed by everyone!
