  1. From the way it sounded I was expecting it to take a little bit for them to get shipped. Hopefully mine is sitting at home for me when I get off work
  2. At one point in my life I was completely obsessed with everything AmAnSet made. They should repress all of their albums
  3. You are right that there really isnt much of a difference. Basically all these represses are cashing in on the fact that the generation who grew up listening to them are now mostly in their 30s with good stable jobs and plenty of disposable income. That said I have a much easier time accepting stuff like Silverchair, Stone Temple Pilots, and Reel Big Fish getting reissued than utter lowest common denominator radio fodder like Blues Travelers getting pressed. I can assume that we are going to see some trash like Dave Matthews Band, Jewel, and Natalie Merchant get new colorful presses. Of course that is all just my opinion and at the end of the day I dont really care what gets pressed and what people buy. If some people want them then I hope they enjoy their records
  4. I am glad they are doing this for anyone who wasnt willing to get the box sets. I do have all Daydream/Goo/Dirty 4xLP sets and they are a fantastic deal. Pretty much the only single album box sets I approve of. I cant wait for Washing Machine though, I still havent got my grubby hands on that album
  5. Sadly not that I know of. I think before when they had a consistent code it was more to drive people to the site and keep them checking it out. They probably have enough eyeballs going to the site now days that they probably feel they dont need to have a 10% code unless its a sale
  6. LOL. Yep this whole thing is one giant first world problem. I am in the camp that though 900 was too few and I figured they would do a repress eventually, maybe a year or so from now. I am surprised that they are announcing a 2nd run so quickly, but I am just happy that I will be able to grab one of these in the near future.
  7. I would agree that they are trying, but frankly it isnt realistic. Once something gets posted on the internet it might as well be assumed that it has been posted everywhere and its naive to think otherwise. A better way to try and make sure this gets in the hands of fans is to just make a whole lot more presses of the set, enough to make flipping essentially not worth the effort. Considering the popularity and the demand of a band like Cake, the amount of presses seems arbitrary to create manufactured scarcity I just hope they reconsider and press more in the near future
  8. I have a question about Kid is Gone, there seems to an awful amount of surface noise on all of my records and I was just wondering if its just a bad press. I actually got one box from Amazon and after noticing more than usual surface noise and a scratch on one of the sides of the 3rd LP I sent it back for a replacement. I received a new box from them and this time there was no scratch but it sounds basically as bad even after a good cleaning. I have another press of Unwound s/t and that press sounds perfectly fine while the new press in the box sounds like shit. I was planning on getting Rat conspiracy but now I am not so sure. Anyone else have an issue with surface noise (ya, kinda funny considering its a very noisy band) or did I just get some really bad luck
  9. Graveface until my face is on a grave, Ryan is the best. Also Asbestos is good if you like some ska and they have been repressing the They Might be Giants back catalog. Jump Up Records also has a fantastic deal if you love a lot of authentic ska, skinhead reggae, calypso etc
  10. Legend has it that whenever a sucker is born, Newbury Comics will be there to sell them a record
  11. LOL $10 shipping, granted they listed it for $1 I guess im not surprised, but this is the sort of thing I expect bad ebay sellers do. Its also $11 for an EP so its not really worth it for me. Great beer though
  12. I remember Dumb and Dumber for many reasons but a great soundtrack isnt one of them. I am going to throw my vote for Angus, I dont think I would actually buy it but it was a cute movie with an even better soundtrack. I actually found my old cd of it a year back while cleaning out my mothers old home and gave it by my niece
  13. But colors guys, colors. Thats totally worth an extra 15 bucks /s
  14. Im with you on that, single album box sets leave me scratching my head. Im fine with a compilation collection of b-sides, live stuff, or demos but getting a box of an album and then a bunch different versions of basically the same stuff seems like a way to add filler to a box and inflate the price. Some of the prices on those boxes are just insane too
  15. The TMBG reissues are one of the biggest reasons I signed up for the record club. I really cant wait, Apollo 18 is my favorite album of theirs
  16. As long as the price is reasonable and they dont try to do a Slint box style and jack up the price an extra $75-$100 bucks then I am all for it. Its Polyvinyl so I doubt they would do something like that
  17. I have been listening to this record for the last couple days and damn, this is a fantastic fucking album. Graveface Record Club always delivers the goods
  18. I cant wait to get my hands on Apollo 18! That has always been my favorite TMBG album
  19. As much as I would love to have this $150 is just flat out asking too much. I also dont really get the appeal of single album box sets, I am all for some live or unreleased songs but having 3 extra unfinished versions of Pam seems like absurd padding to me.
  20. New Releases: The Appleseed Cast - Illumination Ritual Dave Hillyard - California Sigur Ros - Kveikur Repress: Boards of Canada - Music has the Right to Children The Adjusters - Before the Revolution They Might Be Giants - John Henry
  21. I cant blame them for axing a song for that reason. I still have a long standing lingering dislike for Sublime
  22. I actually have a package from them arriving today. Funny thing is that every time I order from them through Amazon, every single one goes to Bell, CA for delivery instead of Denver, CO where I live. All my amazon information is right so its something on their end. Either way the package always ends up getting to my place in good condition
  23. Even though they are picture discs, I would buy them if they were a reasonable price
