  1. Dawhizz - I spun my blue copy for the first time last night. I had heard the three previously released tracks but not the full album (didn't listen to the NPR stream). I like it, but wouldn't say I love it; I would slot it after Animal Years, Historical Conquests, and So Runs in my personal rankings. I think the best tracks are the three previously released plus Young Moses and Cumberland which, as you mentioned has a very strong Graceland vibe and would not be out of place on that album. I do like the mix of different styles on it, just was hoping for a few more "story songs". But this is just based on first impressions, hoping it grows on me with a more plays. Excited to listen to the home recordings/demos CD to see how those versions compare/contrast.
  2. Interesting, that's probably my least favorite of his. What other albums of his have you heard?
  3. 100% agreed, this is my most anticipated album for the rest of the year (a close second is the new Bryan John Appleby).
  4. Haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, but according to Bull Moose, both Lonesome Dreams and Fading Trails are getting colored represses/reissues out 10/30. Lonesome Dreams (coke bottle clear, /500): http://www.bullmoose.com/p/21226849/lord-huron-lonesome-dreams-coke-bottle-clear-limited-to-500-copies Fading Trails (yellow, not sure quantity but assume /500 as well): http://www.bullmoose.com/p/21226846/lord-huron-strange-trails-yellow-vinyl-2lp
  5. Unless you just particularly want to buy from UO/use your discount, you can buy the same table from Music Direct for $299. http://www.musicdirect.com/p-7298-music-hall-mmf-22-turntable.aspx
  6. Amazon is currently sold out, but Volume 2 is also up for pre-order at I&W's official merch site and Bull Moose.

  8. Have you read the first 2-3 pages of this thread yet? http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/88504-beginner%E2%80%99s-guide-to-turntables-hi%E2%80%93fi-read-1st-page-before-posting-new-threads-basic-questions/
  9. Probably means they've already sold their expected allotment/want to avoid overselling.
  10. Not a Fat Possum expert, but would recommend any of the Andrew Bird, A.A. Bondy, or Townes Van Zandt albums.
  11. Back in June the label said the colored variant would be part of the Vinyl Den subscription, see the comments on this post/photo: https://www.facebook.com/dualtonemusic/photos/a.10151725020195933.1073741826.256557545932/10152807525580933
  12. Pretty sure you can still get it by signing up for "Vinyl Den" - Dualtone's monthly subscription service which you can cancel at any time - before Sept. 1st. That's what I just did. http://www.dualtone.com/vinyl-den
  13. New album (Carry the Ghost) is streaming here: http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2015/08/17/noah-gundersen-carry-the-ghost-album/
  14. I pre-ordered Family from Dualtone and got it on the release date (or thereabouts). I didn't get the 7" until 4-6 weeks later IIRC.
  15. Surprised this album isn't being discussed more, it's really really great. It's now streaming on NPR: http://www.npr.org/2015/08/12/430367065/first-listen-nathaniel-rateliff-nathaniel-rateliff-the-night-sweats
  16. "Bootleg edition" available for pre-order on Bull Moose: http://www.bullmoose.com/p/20856769/lucero-all-a-man-should-do-bootleg-edition-ltd-to-1372-copies "Individually hand-stamped and numbered. Vinyl color is random mix. Limited to 1372 copies because the band used to live at 1372 Overton Park and that was the name of their major-label debut."
