Alright... after dozens of obsessive listens, many spins on the turntable, and reading closely alongside the lyrics... this album is hitting me hard. I made the right choice buying two copies of this. It's absolutely incredible, dense, and is deeply upset and somber when following along. I love it. It works between the hard-hitting songs and slower, beautiful ones ending in an incredibly heart-wrenching closer. Watching the documentary all the way through helped the context of the album sink in so much more.
 
With what's already been released and what's promised to come, this is a true AOTY contender for me now, I take back what I said earlier. I'm gunna cherish my Vertigo Flowers edition so much. I may end up with a third copy if I find a deluxe somewhere for a reasonable price.

I put my copy of the tri-color /300 on eBay for 99 cents last weekend and now it's at $26 with 5 hours left.  I haven't seen what other copies are selling for but that seems like a decent price for the LP by itself.

they probably didnt read the description and will now have to file la dispute with ebay...

Listened through once and I have to say it sounds wonderful. I'm sure it'll grow on me even more once I have the records and lyrics. Although I have to say I miss the cathartic, angry moments from Home. I don't think I'll ever find music that hit me as hard as the last  minute of Introduction to the Album and Dendron.

but seriously the best part of settle the scar 
being on this record is that some shitty annoying modern baseball song doesn't come on immediately after.

Wow. This is beautiful.

I definitely felt like they enhanced the experience. I had extremely high hopes for this album and am not disappointed at all after one play.

Most of the time I would agree with this, but in this particular case I think the transitional elements are done with a purpose and they really add to the overall beauty of the record.
 
Also, they're fairly pleasant (and quite brief), and the rest of the tracks feel so substantial and weighty, so for me it's a nice respite. All in all, I think you'll get used to them and eventually come to appreciate their role on the album!

Just finished with my first full listen and all I have to say is that this is an absolutely beautiful album.

Disagreed.  Some people are past the point of saving, or destined to relish shitty music.  I don't know if it's an engrained disposition that he's forced to live with, but Zay's tastes are basically one gigantic meme.  I will eat my keyboard if he can discover and appreciate one decent band on his own accord, before he turns 40.
