The awe-inspiring Finnish metallic psychedelicists Oranssi Pazuzu and their Tampere cohorts Dark Buddha Rising, known for their grandiose slug-paced ritualist doom metal, have recorded a new album, which will be released on Svart Records on April 5th, 2019. The amalgam of these two entities is melted as one on Syntheosis, to be released under the moniker Waste of Space Orchestra.
Syntheosis began as a commissioned piece for Roadburn Festival. The fest, which began as a small-scale gathering of stoner rock addicts has evolved over the years into a four-day celebration of heavy music in all of its possible forms and interpretations, from riff-worship to punishing soundscapes and beyond. The list of Roadburn performers over the years is a veritable who’s who of underground heavy culture, with everyone from Neurosis and Sleepto Godflesh having performed at the event.
Syntheosis the commissioned piece was prepared at the request of the festival and performed there in April 2018 in front of over 3000 people. Syntheosis the album is not a live recording but a carefully prepared studio interpretation, on which the ten musicians worked over the spring and summer of 2018. The album was recorded and mixed by Julius Mauranen, who also worked on Oranssi Pazuzu’s Värähtelijä.  The album can be digested as a challenging, engaging psych metal record or as a dimension-spanning one-hour performance consisting of nine parts. The work recounts a story of three beings and their deep search for knowledge.
The Shaman (Vesa Ajomo) is seeing oppressing visions from the bleak future of mankind.
The Seeker (Juho Vanhanen) is searching for the truth from unknown dimensions with secret methods.
The Possessor (Marko Neuman) corrupts the other individuals, manipulating them into his own sinister plan
A ceremony ends up in the opening of a portal, which sucks the three beings into an alien dimension, which is populated by brain-mutilating colour storms and ego-diminishing audio violence. Eventually the three are forced to reach equilibrium and melt their minds into one collective consciousness.

Pretty surreal to finally have this in person. Kind of beyond words at this point. Got it in Friday and still can't really think of what to say. Thanks to everyone who supports the band. Thanks to everyone for being patient. Thanks to everyone who is really digging the tri. And a huge thanks to Joel, Linds, and and the band. I'll post more photos and updates soon. Still got more stuff incoming...
 
Also, they asked me on May 2nd 2016 about choosing a variant. I didn't realize it's been that long. Over 2 years I've been waiting on this. Time flies. 

Got my copies today and they look wonderful! Matt’s color scheme fits the artwork amazingly well and looks very nice in hand. The red/white smoke is pretty as well but unfortunately the smoke effect it’s very weak and almost invisible, I can see white traces here and there but only holding the records towards a strong light. The glossy effect on the jacket is a nice touch!

This will be released on vinyl by Raw Sugar records at the end of the month. There will be 2 more EPs this summer, 1 on Community Records and 1 on Deathwish. The Magus album will be on Sacred Bones in August.

Some info (that I forgot to post a couple weeks ago):
 
x The mastering is the same as from the 3xLP. The band likes that master better, and wanted to use it this time around for the standalone version of the 2xLP. They did get new test pressings made (as you could probably tell from the giveaway contest). Because of this they are marketing it as a remaster (since it techincally is). 
x They are (as of April 10) awaiting correspondence from Redeye as to how many units Redeye wants shipped. Mylene currently has a box of /150 set aside for them. They are all black, and will most likely throw in some red for some lucky customers since the red will most likely be long gone by it's time to ship to stores. 
x The records are being shipped to Mylene on 4/17. (So they most likely have just gotten them in, and will begin packaging for individual shipment soon. As Brian said, please be patient as it is just J & L handling everything.)

This story by Mitch on IG shows the title and the tracks of the new Thou album, MAGUS. It will be release as 2xLP. 
I’m really looking forward to hear this one.

Yep. I believe I read that the split is 180g. My green is def not. Sounds pretty great though.
Edit: Prob how they justify the $20 markup between the two.
