Finally spun everything, super happy with this boxset. Everything sounds so clear. I don't hate Lovelife as much as I did but it's still the weakest of the set, I probably won't spin it again to be honest, such a "sellout" album. Topolino has some better jams from that era of Lush though. Split is perfection, everything has aged so well.

I dug up my old Slowdive shirts from my parents' garage. Much to my surprise, they were still in good condition.
 

 

 

Big big fan of Blink-182 through the self-titled album....actually enjoyed it when it came out....haven't enjoyed any of it since then.
Love Alkaline Trio up through Crimson....haven't enjoyed anything Skiba has done with alk3 or side-projects since then..
I legitimately think this is horrible. I don't want to ever hear a 44 year old writing new music talking about 17 year olds....I think the timber of their voices are too close as far as range for the back and forth to really work. I don't like that Skiba tried to get a "Tom" style guitar tone. I honestly wished they would have just thrown in the towel. Let Tom do his Angels and Airwaves shit that I also can't stand and Mark and Travis can reignite +44 (which I also didn't care for) and leave Skiba alone to do his thing.
I understand a lot of this is probably because I'm "old", but this is a really superbly recorded atrocity of a song

Yeah, but lathes are not nearly as scalable as pressed records. It takes ten times as long to cut 100 records as it does to cut 10. If I had a lathe cutter and a big touring band asked me to cut 300 records with a decent turnaround time, I'd probably up my per-unit price to the point where they had to sell them for $25. I mean, 300 lathes is pretty much unheard of. Imagine dropping the needle on the first blank, hearing that Say Anything song and coming to terms with the fact that you'll have to hear it 299 more times.

Limited to 1000. Well thats gonna be tough.
