  1. The hard drive in my desktop computer was starting to fail. Took about 36 hours to clone it. As attached as I am to my computer, it was pretty nice to be a little disconnected for a few days. I used my tablet a little, but for the most part I just read, listened to music and watched movies. Biggest problem now is going through the 600+ work emails that I have waiting for me. I'm a little hungover today, so I think I'll put off those emails for a few hours and eat pizza and have a patch me up beer
  2. I felt the same way. It was really strong up until McBride left and then I thought it fizzled. I liked that movie a lot more than I expected to. Sam Rockwell was fantastic in it. I watched Lemmy a couple nights ago and it was great. Worth watching, even if you're not a huge Motorhead fan.
  3. My friends and I use to regularly watch Legends of the Hidden Temple after we left the bar. We dressed up as contestants for Halloween too. It was a blast. I have the Adventures of Pete and Pete on my computer, but I would love to watch Salute Your Shorts and Hey Dude.
  4. Steph, I know exactly what you're going through. I used to work in a bar, which meant I was usually working fairly late and led to going to sleep around 6am. I'm nocturnal anyway and usually take the sunrise as a good sign that it's time for bed. This didn't jive very well with my girlfriend at the time, she worked a job with 'normal' hours and a lot of the time I would be going to sleep as she was getting up for work. It wasn't the reason our relationship ended, but it did put quite a bit of strain on it for a while. She would complain that I would sleep away our days off together and that we missed out on a lot of things while I was sleeping. What worked best for us is that I would get up earlier on the days we both had off and periodically get up and go have lunch with her. It seemed to keep her happy and a lot of the time I could fit a nap in sometime throughout those days.
  5. I like that description. I kind of thought of it as a big budget giant monster movie. I will agree with the C rating too. I never thought superhero/comic movies and TV shows would reach an over saturation point for me, but it's happened.
  6. According to Slashdot it's rolling out in LA/New York for the holiday season and then some more larger cities in 2014. Most of my Amazon orders seem to take place toward the end of the week, so having them show up a day early would be ok with me.
  7. I got mine in the mail last week, but still haven't gotten around to listening to them. I like the packaging, but I haven't quite figured out the best way to open them without damaging the paper sleeve too much. Juan, I'm open to any advice you have.
  8. That SRC post is good stuff. They need to post some 'best of' emails that they've gotten regarding the sticker.
  9. This is how more Kickstarter campaigns should be. The pricing is fair and the goal is reasonable. I'll back this one for those reasons and the fact that the album is solid. It also makes me realize that it's probably been 5 or 6 years since I've listened to it. I'll have to remedy that today.
  10. I get that and even on these very low quality samples, the production sounds less slick. On a different note, I'm not sure if I dig what I've heard of Black Me Out. Song works really well as an acoustic number.
  11. There is no reason to feel like an ass for breaking up with her. Just because she hasn't done anything wrong is no reason to keep a relationship alive. Not being happy with the relationship is reason enough and in the long run, you're probably doing both of you a favor. It's best to break things off now before not being excited to see her turns into dreading seeing her. Most likely, things will only get worse the longer you two stay together. I suggest you sit down with her and be honest and try to explain things the best you can. Be compassionate if she starts crying, but stick to your guns. The next few weeks or months might be a little tough, but it'll be for the best. Find shit to keep you busy and you'll get through it.
  12. I was lukewarm on them until I saw them live. They put on such a great show that I decided to spend more time with their studio work and came to like it quite a bit.
  13. I liked it. It's technically a Christmas movie, so you could watch it next month and be festive.
  14. I'm still interested in the Rant sequel, but less so considering his output lately. I'm cautiously optimistic about it. I'm not sure what I'm going to read next, I have no shortage of books right now. I'm thinking Bukowski's Factotum.
  15. I say give the vegetarianism a try. I'm not sure if it'll help you or not, but it's worth a shot. I've been one for 12 or 13 years (and a vegan for a couple). If you have any questions, let me know. I'm by no means an expert, but I probably know one or two things worthwhile.
  16. I think you should take the time to check them out. They don't really remind me of EitS too much. If you're listening for it, you might get a similarity here or there. But, EitS wouldn't be the first post-rock band that I would compare them to. Edit : Just listened to Tertia for the first time in a while and I do hear some EitS sounding stuff on a few songs. Still worth checking out though.
  17. No kidding. The bulk of the threads you and I usually post on seem downright boring compared to this one.
  18. Had to check out the Paramore thread just to find out what the fuss was about. I vote we keep him, he's amusing and seems to be contained to that thread. For some reason, I really hope he is just some dude who is absurdly into Paramore (to the point where it seems like a hyperbole).
  19. I back that statement completely. I know I watched that movie, but I honestly cannot remember a single thing about it.
  20. I think the Man Advice thread has some competition.
  21. I finished Doomed. It still doesn't touch any of Palahniuk's older work, but I think I enjoyed it the most out of his post-Rant work.
