  1. Nice! I'm planning on watching that tonight or tomorrow. I'm trying to decide if I want to take on the whole trilogy. I watched The To Do List last night. It was entertaining and it made me laugh, but it was fairly forgettable. It was a good 'drink some beer and shut off my brain' movie.
  2. I use post-rock really loosely, mainly out of laziness. It's about as big of an umbrella term is metal is, covers a lot. I do find it amusing that some bands are so adamant about not being classified as genre X, but I can imagine having your work so easily categorized could be frustrating. But, it's human nature to try and classify everything (hence some of the more obnoxious sub-genres we have these days).
  3. Thanks for the heads up on these! Bummed there was no Jesus Glue, but 4 out of 5 is better than nothing. I like Glassjaw, but I don't like them enough to pay second hand prices for these.
  4. I do too, I think Richard is one of the most interesting characters. Slightly unrelated, Paul F. Tompkins does a great Richard Harrow.
  5. I grew up in Montana and the weather there is like that, I hated it. Seems like I missed out on a lot going on today. Lot to catch upon on while I drink my coffee!
  6. Why? If it doesn't ship, you'll only be out the time it took you to place the order. If it does ship, you got the records you ordered.
  7. Just came here to post this, I'm damn excited! Between this and Mogwai, January is going to be a good month for post-rock albums. This release also gives me a good excuse to pick up some Constellation releases that I'm missing.
  8. I liked the ending for the most part, but I was hoping it was going to take a real dark turn and go for the depressing ending. My other small issue with the episode is I didn't find it nearly as funny as other parts of the season. The episode was more focused on the story that the jokes, and that's fine. I mainly felt like this season was the funniest since the first and I was a little bummed to see that this episode didn't crack me up as much. Small nit picks aside, the ending was satisfactory.
  9. I see nothing wrong with that. I haven't drafted anything regarding what I want to be done with mine (or any of my other shit), but I plan on spending extra time figuring out what parts of my collection goes where. Lame to hear some of you are having lame days. I'm going to rub it in a little, but mine has been good so far. I slept in a little bit, drank some coffee and had some records show up in the mail. The only real unpleasant thing I have to do is clean my apartment, which only takes me 1 - 1.5 hours (the length of a good podcast conveniently enough). In other words, my day > most of yours
  10. For some reason I don't quite buy the twist with Roy and Gillian, but I do like the resolution it gives. I like Gillian, but she seemed pretty unnecessary at this point. Overall, the episode was a pretty slow build for the finale that put all the pieces into place. Not a bad thing, although I thought Chalky's portion was a little too slow for me. I'm excited for next week and we better see some more Van Alden!
  11. I thought it was amusing for what it was. I've seen better Breaking Bad comedy things done, but it wasn't terrible by any means.
  12. The one song I heard on it was great, I need to get on ordering that.
  13. Apparently I'm an idiot and didn't actually place my first order! Oh well. I went back and only one item was out of stock. Somehow I ended up spending an extra 150$ though...
  14. I would say start with Reinventing Axl Rose and work forward, but for the most part you can't really go wrong (except maybe White Crosses).
  15. Prices are great and delivery is quick. Problem is the when I get it on my turntable it doesn't quite sound right.
  16. Seeing Bill Callahan on Wednesday night, pretty excited for it. I've gotten into his stuff a lot over the last few years and this is my first chance to see him since.
  17. Watched Kick-Ass 2 last night. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would considering I didn't really care for the first movie or the second set of books. I must have been in the right mood for it or something. I doubt I'd watch it again, but I don't regret taking the time to watch it once.
  18. In all the houses I've lived in, I seemed to be the only person who had regular sex. Didn't really bother me if other people heard it, but that was my early twenties when a lot of said sex was drunken sex. I live alone, but I think I'd probably be a little more concerned about it these days. A roommate did make fun of the noises that a girl I was seeing made, she was not amused.
  19. Since this thread got bumped and I'm bored, I went through and followed a bunch of you. I'm going to have to step up my 'vinyl photos' game. http://instagram.com/jonrawks
  20. I've been to a couple shows sick as hell, sometimes you just have to tough it out. As long as I'm not in danger of passing out or puking constantly anyway.
  21. Anytime my dog eats anything he normally wouldn't, it's a disaster. I wish you luck.
  22. I don't mind this show, but I wouldn't miss it if it was gone. To me it feels like the jokes/episodes are the all same with slightly different variables. If you've seen a few episodes, you've pretty much seen them all. The first season was the one I liked the most, but I think a lot of that was the 'new car' feeling. I do think Adam DeVine's character has helped this season a bit though. I don't agree with that at all. But rip off or not, I do think that Happy Endings was just as funny as Scrubs was at it's peak (seasons 3/4.
