I know what you mean. My first copy sounded like popcorn but my amoeba copy sounded really good, a major improvement. I also have the deluxe on order but I'll really enjoy AMSP, played properly on my setup now!!!

I too received my Amoeba rainbow copy today. Fingers crossed and, viola, a very fine pressing of this record. The white Rainbo copy I bought at my local Birmingham store sounded like shit (and no, I didn't clean either copy before playing them). Cant tell you how relieved I am to have this amazing album on some good wax!!!!

Agreed. Saw them last Thursday and it was a fantastic show. Really down to earth guys just having fun rocking out. I was able to pick up a CT variant with the coloring book. I was going to pick up their first record but it sold out the night before.

When I finally got to Variety Playhouse for their late night Shaky Knees set they had already sold out. However, it was just a few minutes before they took the stage. But let me tell you, I had never seen them before and that was a LOUD mind blowing set! I will never miss them again. Their sound was like a psychedelic sledgehammer to the face (in a good way).

I guess I got really lucky. I called my local the day after the announcement and they said they would order me two copies. With all of the horror stories I was sure they would be unable to fill when, lo and behold, they called me today to said to come by and pick them up any time!! Gonna stop by tomorrow and will be spinning tomorrow night! My buddy is really gonna like his birthday present too !!!

Isla bonita was about average for Deerhoof. To these ears, many of the songs sounded like they needed more fleshing out. Now Breakup Songs on the other hand was a,stone cold classic IMO. Regardless, their discography is about as consistently awesome as there is.

Anyone still waiting on their copy? I ordered the vinyl edition with the two art prints frim their site and still haven't received anything. Grrrrrrrr......

Anyone know what the clear 12 VIP released for April is? Just has a question mark on the label.

Probably $150. They did price the 5 disc cd set at a very reasonable $25 which gives me hope that the vinyl won't be a total bank account buster.
