buddha4281 reacted to topshelfsquad in Parannoul (파란노을) Catch-all Thread ('After the Magic' out now! Vinyl shipping Aug 2023)
thanks for your patience with me on this one, y'all. i know there have been some headaches over the last year or so. we've really been going through it. i'm def not trying to make any excuses though and want everyone to be happy with what they ordered. i will say tho, i've had so much support from friends when it gets crazy, but day to day, all customer service, shipping, receiving, inventorying—it's all just me. so it can get kinda backed up sometimes (it is right now). we're bringing on more folks to help soon and gradually rebounding from the whole Awesome Merch fiasco. i can't express how much that knocked us completely on our ass tho. i think we're putting out some of the nicest, high quality, intentionally packaged records of any indie label our size currently despite all that. and i think we're gonna get things more organized and streamlined in the next few months. so, yeah, idk, i am rambling, but i just wanted to say thanks for bearing with us on some super annoying pre-orders. we'll definitely get things humming along again here shortly.
oh! also! anyone getting the "Polaris Blue" variant and finding it doesn't look as intended. we're looking into how this happened as this isn't what we ordered. i was as suprised as any of you. here's some copy pasta i've sent a few people who have emailed to inquire about it:

Fuckkkkkkkkk a ten inch record tho

buddha4281 reacted to prowl20 in PO: various Touch & Go colored vinyl reissues (TV On The Radio, Jesus Lizard, Slint, Urge Overkill, etc.)
Hopefully this means they'll repress Seam's "The Problem With Me"
I think Numero only got to do "Headsparks" because it was released on Homestead and not T&G

Mouse Ear Forget Me Not / Maximillian Colby split (both sides) and the Believe In 7” are my favorites.

I’ve corrected this with an afternoon listen. @prowl20 was not lying about that bass work. Probably going to explore at least 1 more of their releases to seal the deal but it feels like a pretty obvious no-brainer.

Received my copy from Amazon today.
What's with still doing 2xLP releases in a single-sleeve jacket?!?! Fuckin' shitballs.

Sorry for late reply.
Mouse Ear Forget Me Not is a top ten for me. We're going to announce everything soon - so hang in there, biting my tongue - but trust me - you guys will be stoked.
For anyone else keeping notes...we recently announced the Antarctica 2 x LP, Pleasure Forever new 12" and have a ton of more stuff coming this year and next.
We just listed some limited test press edition covers on band camp (nuzzle sold out immediately) - were going to do another round next month. Follow us on insta for info

buddha4281 got a reaction from hexrecords in SHOTMAKER | Solid Brass Records
I shit bricks when I saw this on instagram yesterday. I am hoping for some sort of discography since I am a herb and never got their stuff pre-the vinyl boom. But I will honestly buy whatever it is.
I always talked about these guys like they were Canada's Fugazi. Bands like Blake, The Plan, Okara, etc. all probably wouldnt have existed if not for them. I always loved that Shotmaker is way closer to early emo/screamo/emocore (think like Indian Summer, Sleepytime Trio, etc.) than like DC styled post hardcore though (obviously discounting Hoover) and that explains alot about elements that would pop up in Canadian bands that came after.
Clearly, i am over excited for whatever this ends up being & I dont normally have an instance to go on about this band haha.

So excited about this. Discovered Lynx through Battles (when Konopka was still with them). This album was played so often when I was in college.

buddha4281 reacted to whoa in Video Game OSTs v2.0
Actually the worst company. I remember the Hyper Light Drifter og box taking nearly a year and everyone up in arms about that. All like "we were detailing the jacket" which was a bit shit in the end, let's face it, a box shouldn't feel that fragile after a year of waiting for it.

buddha4281 reacted to Rip in Video Game OSTs v2.0
Gravity Falls PO was a pretty big shit-show from them as well. I think the wait time was almost 2 years and I don’t think they even showed the actual artwork for it until a month or 2 before it actually shipped
Was it worth the wait though? I kind of think so. When it comes to quality, they rarely miss, but man the way they go about things sometimes is pretty awful. Absolutely no reason to do PO’s for anything with such a crazy wait time.

buddha4281 reacted to Sad Heart in PO Now: Caspian - On Circles (1/24/2020)
Got mine in today. This is just insultingly bad. So first off the PVC sleeve has a strip of glue on it, so once you peel the tab up that’s pretty much it. You couldn’t even close it again if you wanted. The packaging was just a mailer so the PVC sleeve is creased and folded anyway; good thing it’s being discarded - but I paid for it. Secondly this packaging is basically two sleeves. That’s it. There’s no gatefold. The embossed white cover that makes you think it’s a gatefold via the picture is just an embossed sleeve. It’s not even wide enough for it to count as housing for two records because that’s not what it is. The other sleeve is just a standard sleeve made out of the same card stock / paper. The discs are definitely under 180g. I don’t have a scale, but I can tell. Lastly the wording on the site made it seems the entire release was mastered, but the wording on the PVC clarifies just the unreleased songs were “mastered for vinyl”.
Even better is that is the most marred record I’ve ever received. It’s full of scuffs and scratches. Those paper sleeves really did a great job…
How Tc could charge anything over $25 for this is beyond me. And that’s putting aside how I’m going to need replacement discs. Wow. If I didn’t need this to keep up my collection I’d do a return / charge back.

Oh man. Takk… into Glósóli is one of the greatest openers of all time. Sæglópur (favorite SR song) and Gong are wonderful too. I’d kill for a Takk… 2.0.
I listened to about half of the new album on my way to work this morning and enjoyed it. I’m excited to blast it at home when I get some alone time soon.
