A busy area of my hometown was on lock down for over a day starting Wednesday at around 8PM until Friday morning at around 1AM because a man dressed in all camo carrying a rifle and a crossbow was walking around busy neighbourhoods. He was walking by civilians, neighbours, who said his face was emotionless. Once police responded to the calls of an armed man walking down a busy road, shots were exchanged between him and police. He ended up killing 3 police officers in front of people and wounding 2 other officers. There was a video surfacing where you could see an officer fall. Pretty intense scene in town. Anyway… the killer got away and was in hiding around different neighbourhoods in town. He was supposedly spotted multiple times but the police had to confirm before shooting, which I guess they could not. He was caught this morning at 1AM in someone's backyard close to where the killings happened 30 hours prior. It made CNN and BBC and other major stations. I wonder if you guys heard of this. My hometown in called Moncton, if you google it, you'll get the scoop. Here's his Facebook. I've been locked up indoors for a while in a hot apartment a few kilometres away from the lockdown zone. It's great that the suspect is in custody, not so great that 3 officers lost their lives.

Anyone else having this problem?

Graduated in 04 but teach high school now. Students seem to be into tons of different things but the majority are into EDM if chaperoning school dances tell me anything. Also, students really like Imagine Dragons and Bastille and some new rap, specifically 2 Chainz, Odd Future (big time) and Schoolboy Q. This is far east coast Canada, so the trend is probably different elsewhere.

This thread has introduced me to Whirr. I really like what I am hearing.

Nothing I would classify as the worst except the random troubles while spinning BIGs "Life after death" … I am most satisfied with Built to Spill's UAW packaging. It looks amazing. Mine skipped a bunch, tried it on the turn table at the record store and it worked fine. Playing it now on my turntable and it is not skipping nearly as much. I hope I didn't just jinx it.

to anyone that got Notorious BIG "Life after death" - does your copy skip often? I'm currently on side D and at least 5 songs skipped routinely.

Hey guys, I didn't really want to make a new topic in the vinyl forum about this because those are usually counter-productive when it comes to getting serious answers at times. I was hoping maybe some of you could shed some light on this recent situation: I ordered 2 records from SRC and one of them came with a scratch on it, one song is unplayable without skipping every rotation. After emailing their support staff I was basically told to either buy more records and pay 20$ + in shipping like I did for this order and they can ship an undamaged LP to me OR return my full copy and they'll ship it back with me again paying shipping, which would be costly to pay for shipping both ways. This is the first time I run into an issue with buying a new record online. With other products you can usually get it replaced without any questions asked, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for this.

ah the ol' decomposed log. public washrooms are always a gamble. i use them quite often - i pee a lot because of all the coffee i drink… you see some nasty stuff in there. the worst is now being a teacher and using one of the many staff washrooms. you just know what teacher is guilty of the act. also, e-mail in OP is hilarious.
