My friends that collect aren't as proper with their records... the same dudes that leave it looking like a mess are the dudes leave theirs out on the table, not even in their sleeves, at parties. (EWWWW shit). My non-record collection friends are more respectful. Anyways. You seem to have solid friends, Sirnonsense.

With all the money that I'm sure most of us put in to collection, you'd hope guests would appreciate your belongings. Most of my friends come over and leave my collection looking like a disaster zone. Also, one of my friends, who also collects records, insists on touching the record itself while switching, and he switches after like one song everytime. I have about 20 records with finger prints just from last weekend. I finally asked him to just leave the record on and let me do the switching.

Just a little pick-up from the local shop. Extremely cheap and something to add to my New Order collection.

Agree ^^^ Especially Sigur Ros. My friend lives a block away and has a huge indoor patio, all windows. I am just waiting for the first storm so that we can relax and play of a few records. Also, off the top of my head I can picture Moody Blues - Days of Future Past being a good one.

couldn't agree more. before entering my career last year i worked at a restaurant as a server for 5 years during my studies and it makes me a lot more conscious of the job itself including how shitty it can be at times (but not always, obviously) and also things like paying in to a tip pool, making shitty wages in return for keeping a portion of tips, etc...

My father just texted me to say that he bought me an Expedit shelf from Ikea this weekend. He was visiting family in Montreal and simply asked if I wanted anything from Ikea... I finally have storage for my records when he gets home.

There is a show coming up in my hometown next weekend, it will be my first one. Wouldn't be surprised if the prices are inflated, that seems to be the vibe anyway. I havent bought any records in a few weeks so I'm hoping to pick up a few there. Early bird access only 5 bucks too. If anyone live in the Maritime provinces, this could be alright.

The first album I ever bought as a kid was London Calling, which I never heard a single song from at the time, and I would say it paid off because it got my into loving and buying a lot more music. Like youinreverse said, the album got me into a lot of older british stuff, which branched off into other genres.

Ebay had some recently that were reasonably priced and shipping wasnt too bad. Every now and again some good offers show up. I'm seeing the 29 euro shipping above and cringing. I got my copy from someone from Canada; however, I think he must of got his from Germany before and resold it - it meets all of the criteria as the german exports. The record sounds amazing! If you find one that is reasonably priced jump on it.
