New to this group:)..Using AR Legend table with Jelco arm and Goldring G1042 cartridge through a Graham Slee Amp2 SE phono stage into an Arcam Delta 290 and Arcam Delta 290P via Chord interconnects and speaker cables into B&W speakers on lead shot filled Alphason stands....room placement still needs addressing!

I would personally keep at least one probably all of my "original" pressings since I would enjoy revisiting that classic mix we're all used to – and also because I have a problem – but there's no denying that I'd go balls deep on a proper rerecording or miraculous remaster. It speaks volumes that most of us are still gushing over an album that's nearly 8 years old, but I think that's a testament to how powerful the songwriting is over the production quality. (Which isn't atrocious... it could just be so much better.) The idea of being able to hop back and forth between current Tertia and a 2019 Tertia that's on the same production scale as Dust & Disquiet is a delightful thought to consider.

The low ball offers are already happening. Not letting it go for that non sense. I'd rather keep it and sell a kidney.
So damn good. It's yours if you want it, man.

Good God. If you're going to start playing the "defective item" card on the happenstance of seems splitting during transit you're going to be a very miserable person if you continue purchasing records through mail order. The product inside that packaging is a record. Its meant to be spun on a turntable and have a phonographic needle dragged through it. If that record doesn't work properly then that's a defective item. If you've got a little seem splitting on a sealed record that traveled across state lines, that's collateral damage and is in keeping with likelihood of the laws of physics coming into play when a plastic disc (sharp or blunt) is jostled about inside of a square paper and card stock packaging.

@adogg As already stated above, I'm perfectly happy with my copy.
Keeping in mind that what's heard in the link you've posted is actually considered bad by people, there's a slight possibility that my copy sounds worse. I mean, I'm not sitting in front of the TT counting clicks per minute, because there's just no point in doing so. Records do click, they do pop, no matter what you do about it. I wet clean all my records after purchase und give them a thorough dry clean with the MoFi brush right before playing. Some are dead quiet, some are noisy, yes, but even perfectly clean, quiet records pop here and there as long as you don't play them in a sterile vacuum or something.
So, to answer your question as truthfully as I possibly can, I think my copy sounds fucking amazing, others might think it's horrible, but I'm sure as all not putting a WAV of it online for the sake of comparison. It's a matter of the recipients mindset; that, and basic knowledge/understanding of what's causing records to pop.
I mean, people have different expectations/opinions when buying and listening to a record and I'm perfectly fine with that. There's people with way better set-ups and cleaning devices out there who might think I'm full of shit and that's great. Though, I do get riled up just a little bit about that special breed of people complaining about fucking everything on discogs or whatever. It's such a waste of time/energy/resources for everyone to make wholly subjective, derogative assumptions about perfectly fine product and have people return it to record stores over nothing.

Vol. 4
Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath
Sabotage
Paranoid
.

.
Technical Ecstasy
Never Say Die

We haven't had a fun little "exercise" in a while, and I'm just about finished with my Ozzy Sabbath collection, so how about we rate the first eight Sabbath albums?
I'll go first obviously since it was my idea and because I think it'll be different from most of yours :
1)s/t
2)Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath
3)Master of Reality
4)Paranoid
5)Sabotage
6)Vol. 4
7)Technical Ecstasy
8)Never Say Die
granted I've spent relatively very little time with TE and NSD, and haven't listened to them in a long time. Could be better than I remember.

Who on earth would consider those few minor clicks as bad? Anyone who does should stick to CD/MP3, since they seem to lack basic knowledge about what's actually happening while playing a record. I'm not losing sleep about it, but it sure does irk me that people return perfectly good LPs because they don't have any idea what they're doing.
@adogg rant is not directed towards you, personally, just a general observation.

I finished the cabinet I was working on. Cost under $200 and should hold about 700 albums or so. I'm just really proud of the top. Too bad you can't see too much of it. Next step is getting a separate amp for the record set up. Feels good to design and build it myself instead of going to IKEA or paying an arm and a leg for a piece of furniture. It's a nice median between the two.
