  1. the last thing on my mind after seeing the movie was, "I wish there was more."
  2. lol yeah haha good point common mistake.
  3. pretty sure he was casted in the Incredible Hulk before those movies were even written.
  4. really? Neither of them were the box office stars they are now when they were casted in iron man and TIH, respectively. RDJ's career might as well be done and Ed Norton wasn't exactly at the top of everyone's casting list because of The Illusionist and Keeping The Faith.
  5. No. At this point, the movie looks like a shitty way to force the joker into an already messy cinematic universe. Some of the character designs are so awful (The Joker and his shitty tattoos. WTF?) and the lack of The Riddler in a suicide squad movie is dumb. Just like BvS, id love to be surprised, but I'm worried. I think another thing that hurt BvS is introducing a new batman in a superman movie. While I've always wanted to see batman and superman together on screen, one of the things that makes batman the best is his incredible enemies. Watching Batman fight Superman enemies is cool for a crossover episode but it's not how this Batman should've been introduced. Likewise, I don't have much confidence for The Joker in a non-Batman movie. My confidence in WB/DC is so low right now. One thing I've noticed that ruined the 1989-1997 batman franchise was that one of the differences of WB and marvel is that WB tries so hard to get the biggest actors to play their biggest roles. (Clooney/Kilmer/Carrey/Lee Jones/Schwarzenegger/Silverstone (at the time). That's part of what made TDK trilogy work so well. Christian Bale was not nearly as well known as Kilmer or Clooney, though while still relatively well-known he was not known for any specific part. He allowed you to see him as Batman/Bruce Wayne. Same goes for Heath Ledger. You didn't see Heath Ledger on screen, you saw The Joker. Marvel seemed to take a note from Nolan's Batman trilogy by placing arguably B-List actors in the lead roles; Robert Downey Jr. (in 2008), Edward Norton, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, etc. And at the time of casting had more well known actors and actresses in supporting roles: Jeff Bridges, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tommy Lee Jones, Samuel L Jackson, Scarlett Johanson, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, etc. While Ben Affleck surprised me as Bruce/Batman, his casting was the first sign that WB was starting to call back old obsolete strategies. WB is starting to once again operate under the false idea that 'box office stars' are a real thing. There once was a time that putting Will Smith in your movie was a guaranteed hit; then Hancock happened. And in a post-After Earth world, they still cast him in Suicide Squad.
  6. that's the idea. a few little changes would've made the story make so much more sense.
  7. I thought Man Of Steel was pretty good for a Superman movie because I've really never loved any Superman movie. My favorite Superman was Smallville. Besides some filler episodes, a couple rough seasons, and some bad teen drama, the portrayal of all the characters was so well done. Man of Steel took some good notes from Smallville that I think saved the movie. But Zack Snyder is incapable of making a great comic book movie. I thought this movie could've built off of MoS and made something pretty good, but the result was far worse than I could've imagined. The script was just so lazy and the whole movie felt like it was thrown together very quickly and the execution of most of the plot points that could've worked was just so sloppy.
  8. im surprised. I thought you'd be one of the most critical here.
  9. Why are there always some of you that believe there is a real person with a real college project on vinyl records?
  10. I honestly haven't seen anyone really complaining about Affleck. I thought he was good. It's his lines and everyone elses lines that were garbage. Honeslty... what was to like about this mess of a movie? I think anyone who says they liked it liked the idea of it. They like seeing Batman and Superman on screen together. Once you get past that, it's so disappointingly bad. Lots of spoilers:
  11. Every single action movie has this issue. That's not the problem. The better a movie is, the less you notice those things, especially during the first viewing. (this is coming from a big DC fan that never cared for marvel growing up). This is usually not an issue when I've watched any of the Marvel Studio movies. They're fun and not too complicated. Nowhere near perfect or realistic. Age of Ultron bothered me the same way BvS did, but to a much smaller extent. It tried to do too much and it hurt the flow of the movie. BvS was just a god damn mess. I was constantly confused and distracted by the flow of the movie that it brought me out of it. I really tried to like it. By the end i did not care about any of the characters. I felt no connection to any of them. And I wanted to like them all.
  12. It was really bad. And I'm really bummed about it. They really screwed up what could've been a good movie. It wasn't even the acting or anything. Awful script, awful effects, awful editing. I don't understand what's to like about this movie.
  13. This piece of shit made Batman & Robin look like Citizen Kane!!!
  14. It would be even more strange to call it a Mars Volta/antemasque show and play at the drive in songs. Think about what you just said.
  15. Very excited for this, though cautiously optimistic for the wedding theme. Also bummed about picture discs, though, I assume the art for this release will be incredible and it might be worth getting for that reason. I'd definitely get a standard version for listening to. Natasha is one of the one artists that could convince me to buy a picture disc release.
  16. Hey fox, more than anything I really want that Mew record if you can help me out again.
  17. my bad. i thought that was the whole point of bundling it with a ticket. regardless, i just spun DTGL, and it sounds good. Only bummer is where the side ends. But it seems like they did a solid job cutting it.
  18. If you bought them with VIP, you pick it up at the show. Only people who bought on Black Friday or whatever are having theirs shipped.
  19. and they replaced the post with a message that says anyone who posts a list on VC will be banned.
  20. probably. they want control over every aspect. how limited the records will be, how many stores will get each record, which stores they will screw. record store day has gotten drunk with power.
