Shameful Dread reacted to SaviorSelf in Jason Tate: "Yes, vinyl prices are going up. No, I don't feel bad."
I dont think I misunderstood. He clearly said it is the best hip hop album of the year. Kanye is definitely consistent, minus Yeezus, but thats my opinion. I wouldnt put too much stock into his next release until I heard something from it, much like any other artist.
Im not trying to make this a music taste pissing contest, all I did was announce my gripe with a site I used to be fond of, thats all. CWhit pretty much backed up my opinion with his comments anyways.

Differnt folks, different strokes I guess. Im not really a fan of commercialized aspect of hip hop and there are some people who could argue that YG isnt even hip hop, but a pop artist. Horrible rhymes over generic trap beats. Have you heard the Madlib/Freddie Gibbs joint Pinata? Black Milk's? The Roots? Pharoahe Monch? Apollo Brown? Atmosphere? Blueprint? I could keep going on but thats not the point.
Also, too many people ride kanye for the sole fact he is kanye. You just said yourself you dont even have to hear something to declare it AOTY.

Youre kidding right, Future and YG? Exactly what I am talking about.
You tell me how many underground independent rap artists get shown love over there. Artists like Danny Brown might get a post every once in a blue moon. You missed my point completely. As for the artists you mention, all major label and all extremely popular ALREADY. TDE might not be a major, but their exposure most certainly is. Blink and MXPX arent/or werent at one time considered "punk"?
Last time I checked, its not up to the community what gets posted over there.

I've never considered 12 year olds a rival. They are simply different sites. We are headed by a shadowy company that is responsible for pushing up the price of vinyl exponentially and AP is headed by the guy that promotes it. Honestly, whats worse? Whats the real difference? We are here keeping the main promotions wing of SRC relevant and popular. Pot meet kettle. We need Terrible Vacation.

your post that he's a bought politician - he's friends with plenty of bands and has also gone on the record on AP.net disliking some of said friends albums.

And you guys would rather pay to listen to a CD pressed to vinyl than just listen to it on the computer, why?

Godspeed are money hungry whores who don't live by their anarchist ideologies. I took the song title to be referencing that. The dudes use like a Will Smith status tour bus.

The creativity of their names probably matches the blandness of the derivative indie crap they release.

i think youspinmeround knows how to clean records.
that being said. the fact that united is churning out over 40,000 of these, i wouldn't be at all surprised if they're pushing the plates past their intended limits and people getting records from the end of a particular run are noisier than others.

Each time I see a comment posted about "noisey" records on various threads, it makes me wonder if people are truly taking the time to clean their records *before* (MOV records come to mind that usually have a lot of lint/debris on them) and after each play, and also cleaning their stylus. I am sure there are people who do this routinely and others that likely forget--which could cause a lot of these issues (especially when so many people comment "no noise for me" and then the other half say they do...so I find it hard to believe it is a manufacturing defect 99% of the time). From the New to Vinyl FAQ stickied at the top of this forum (we may need to break it out into its own thread)
1. How do I clean my records?
Depending on your budget there are several options to keep your records clean. Listed below are some common options from most affordable to most efficient:
1.
A. Brush and cleaner fluid ($15)
B. Anti-static brush ($25-$30)

2. SpinClean manual cleaner ($75-150)

3. Record cleaning machine ($560 and up to thousands)

Some people have reportedly been able to clean their records with wood glue:

You'll also want a stylus cleaner. I recommend the ONZOW Zero Dust.

Some people get the job done with a Magic Eraser:

Thanks to these 2 for the downvotes for a friendly reminder post! You stay classy San Diego.

I placed an order with Pax-Am as well. It would be a bummer to miss out on an additional b-side. However, if they are identical singles I will gladly offer up my duplicate for free to anyone that misses out.
