  1. Loving this, thanks for sharing! My pick is... Mountain Sea by Desert Noises http://northplatte.bandcamp.com/album/mountain-sea Not sure how to describe it, kind of a folk/indie mix I guess, but it is just flawless, amazing listen start to finish, my second favorite album of 2011. It just blows my mind that nobody knows about this band yet. No problem at all. Anyone who loves that EP on first listen has respectable tastes, in my books. Consider Mountain Sea officially on my snag-list.
  2. Unless you find someone in a (very) tight pinch, I doubt this will happen. But you could always try this. < 24 hours left.
  3. H O U R V A R I Two track, 21 minute debut EP; surprisingly phenomenal. This came out of nowhere. I've never paid for a digital download... but after seeing no option to grab a CD or LP, I felt obligated to do so. It's... post-hardcore. Post-rock. Post-metal. Post-whatever. Vocals are reminiscent of the newer Moving Mountains material. [A nice mix of coarse and rough stuff.] Some great soundscapes and thunderous builds for post-rock fans. There's even a bit of black (but not too black) metal elements that peek through here and there. (Think Deafheaven.) In short, do yourself a favor and at least visit their Bandcamp. Easily one of my last-second favorites of 2011.
  4. Absolutely understandable logic. When I bid on eBay, I'm always swimming in surplus cash and never have bills or financial responsibilities to take care of. I can't imagine what it'd be like to struggle or get by from paycheck to paycheck in this economy.
  5. What are you guys factoring in to determine a favorite? The music itself? (If so, how would this differ from the countless "your favorite album" threads?) The record variant? The packaging? The story behind how you obtained the vinyl? Vague topic is vague.
  6. Just beautiful. If this wasn't getting repressed [supposedly soon], I'd dent my tax return for yours.
  7. Was it the same listing where the dude wanted ~$20 in shipping, on top of the $75 BIN? It's no wonder he's had to relist it multiple times.
  8. Truth. I saw this coming with the hiatus underway - no idea how long it will last or if it'll escalate, but it seemed inevitable. I'm eager to see what the next copy of First Impressions may go for on eBay.
  9. I've also heard that it's quite different - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a grower. And the whole "early arrival" thing is only a big deal to me because it's the first record I've purchased in three years that's actually showed up prior to release date. Realistically it's not that far away, you're right.
  10. Still waiting for my copy to arrive, but it's nice to know that the brown variant turned out well.
  11. I thought it all translated exceptionally well, live. But then again, I've never been remotely bored with Alchemy like a lot of people seem to be.
  12. A bit of a predicament. I can't decide which I fancy more; the clear press, or the original album art. I only need one copy, but part of me doesn't want to risk waiting on a repress - with the CD art - if it's on black wax /1,000+. Two copies are also out of the question for me. Hmm.
  13. Oh, I get it. The Anthony Green shirt is green. Cleverness aside, that's one atrocious shirt. I also received my LP today. Probably the first time I've ever held a pre-order LP in my hands, this far out from the street date. I live in the middle of nowhere, and typically receive packages a week after their "scheduled to arrive by" release date. Definitely a welcomed change.
  14. I would absolutely hop on that. Especially if they did a neon yellow and baby blue x2 LP to match the CD version.
  15. Check TRL - they have three Grails albums in stock, and two of them should still be available on color. The double LPs are $15 a pop, and the single 12" is $12. All are great listens in my opinion.
  16. It's pretty funny to see Lazylabradors copy in the "more chances to get what you want" for the low low price of 129.99 w/free shipping. How sweet of her to add free shipping. You really can't argue with free shipping. But yeah, nice score droptheneedle. Such a quality record and package - $12.50 is a steal.
