  1. This thread would be better with some horrible-band name contributions.
  2. Going out on a limb, and figured this would be worth a shot. Does anyone have an extra copy or variant of this that they'd be willing to unload for a fair price? Not holding my breath, but I haven't seen this on eBay, discogs, or anywhere. Willing to settle on an exceptionally fair price.
  3. While this is adorably pretentious of you, I feel like we were having a valid discussion. I love the way my Major/Minor vinyl sounds. Make no mistake about that. I do not, however, have a portable turntable. [Nor have I used a pair of Apple ear-buds outside of my first iPod's unboxing.] I love me some Thrice, and I love quality audio... on vinyl or otherwise. Problem? Regarding What + Waffles vs. RARs + ZIPs... I get where you're coming from, and the grocery store analogy is probably a pretty accurate one. However, I think I've maybe downloaded one bad / poorly tagged RAR, in my history of... music pursuit. What.CD is really good with "big releases" - in terms of getting them early - but there several albums in this year alone that I dug up online, at full quality, a full week before anything surfaced on What. I guess it's about knowing where to look? I "shop around" the analogical grocery marts before hopping on a random Mediafire link. Genre-specific blogs (that are on the ball with upcoming releases) have treated me very well. But to each his own -- I'm not knocking either preference. But back on topic, I guess. I think a lot of it also has to do with Thrice fans becoming privy to vinyl over the last few years, with the supposed resurgence in LP sales. Alchemy was probably an exception, for the time: I imagine that Thrice fans who were becoming interested in vinyl weren't looking to spend quite that much for liner notes and a fancy package. But that's speculation on my end. I feel like Beggars flew off the shelves -- it didn't seem like long at all until people were asking pretty exorbitant prices for colored versions. Like many, I'm still surprised by how quickly they [supposedly] moved 4,000 copies of M/M. It'll be really interesting to see how their next vinyl release fairs.
  4. I won't go into pirating specifics... but I'll simply say that a Google search will net you every jam you could want, 99% of the time. Way faster and less complicated than any P2P business.
  5. waffles.fm what.cd Not counting the fact that those are invite exclusive, Demonoid is also a better choice if you're looking to hop on a new release without worrying about maintaining ratio. But all in all, I'm baffled that anyone torrents music anymore. I have a 320 CD rip of Major/Minor, for the exact reasons everyone has pointed out. And it sounds phenomenal. If you can't dig one up, Andrew, I'll upload it for you.
  6. At this point it's starting to feel like the signature "rare variant" (similar to Relapse's clear pressings)... which is kind of cool on one hand. But on the other - which I agree with, a bit more - it's getting a little stale. Hopefully that Victory intern on VC reads this and forwards it to the big man.
  7. Interesting stuff, for sure... thanks for taking the time to upload.
  8. Are photos a possibility? And if so, there's no need to apologize for their lack of quality.
  9. The clear-smoke looks pretty incredible... but after seeing those center-labels, I'm glad that I was forced to buy an amber instead.
  10. For the most part, I agree. I think it just really fluctuates with the haze design. The second LP - at least the ones that feature black prominently - go really well with the cover. But that's about it. It is kind of lame that the "solid" variant resembles the first press so closely... but like a lot of people here, I'm content regardless of the colorway.
  11. Oh, so in other words... amazingly? The colorway and description of the packaging sounds incredible. Totally looking forward to this -- the wait is proving to be a killer. And I'm still baffled that - for as anticipated as this repress was - copies of the 200 colored variant are still available.
  12. Making a thread for a friend who's looking for the blue-black variant of this album. He's willing to pay a reasonable amount... but I don't feel obligated to get into the financial details. Anyone have this and willing to sell? I can provide his e-mail via PM, or you can post your asking price here. He's itching for this album; any fair offers will almost certainly be accepted, sans haggling. Help a dude out!
  13. I dig the tweak on the album art, but $16 PPD for a Christmas 7"? My mind is still reeling.
  14. The number of copies being sold on eBay - /450 - is indeed rather appalling.
  15. Beautiful. I really like a few of those color variants, too. Just wondering if these four tracks will sport enough replay value to justify the $20...
