  1. Agreed, and also curious about Steve Albini's involvement. I certainly didn't detect any trademark Albini production in the new track. Actually hoping it's a side project of sorts. With Ty being a producer himself and working with many other artists as producer, it would seem odd to have someone else produce an album under his name - especially a self-titled one.
  2. I haven't heard the Fight Club soundtrack in ages, but that packaging is pretty rad.
  3. It wasn't that long ago that having 8-10 tracks on an album was the norm. Ok it was a few decades ago. NPR actually shows a 10th track "Untitled", not listed on the Drag City site. Anyhow, super excited for this! New track sounds good. Not digging the cover art, although he's not known for particularly interesting covers. Most are better than this one, though. I'll pick this up on release day - no need to mess with shipping anxiety without a unique variant.
  4. In the screenshot I posted, I had only added one of each color. If I click Continue, it takes me to an empty cart. Maybe I'll try a different browser tomorrow. Using Chrome though, like most people.
  5. Oh good, I didn't even notice he was on the album. Hopefully I won't notice next time I listen either.
  6. Has anyone but me tried to go beyond the cart and gotten the message below? I even tried adding 500 to cart as suggested above to see what's left in stock, and was shown roughly those numbers, and I'm able to add anything to cart below those numbers. But when clicking Checkout or Paypal, this comes up. Every time I've tried since yesterday:
  7. Just re-listened to this - still essential to the genre and the band's history. And yeah just to confirm, it's after you click Checkout from the cart that it then shows the standard releases as out of stock.
  8. Sorry I don't know why I said black - standard. It was showing in stock, but out of stock in cart.
  9. I don't see a black option anywhere. I was able to add both Yellow Cake and Bubblegum to cart earlier, but when viewing cart it said sold out for both.
  10. I haven't gotten through the entire thing yet but so far it has exceeded my expectations. Not saying it's the best hip-hop album in recent memory, but it's more than I expected from a group that hasn't released anything in 18 years.
  11. Grrr. Bummed I missed this! Just saw the thread and everything is sold out, even "standard" editions - which are colored as well apparently. Oh well. I do remember liking this EP a lot at the time (I got it and [A-->B] Life around the same time in 2002). Probably would be worth another listen before buying even it wasn't sold out.
  12. They should have used the comic book cover for the standard release - being consistent with the previous 2 albums - and the different style one for the limited edition/bundle/whatever. I think people would have been more stoked for the different style if it was part of the limited/color version. Because psychology.
  13. Stream? STREAM?! Dammit where's the pre-order? Did they stream A Weird Exits before release or pre-order? Seems odd, maybe it is delayed.
  14. Yeah, getting all 3 box sets is a big investment and I might just rather pick and choose a few albums to start without having to pick these "bundles". I'll probably just get them one by one if I see them for a good price.
  15. Yeah I guess after the Numero boxsets there's no reason they would repress individual LPs.
  16. Just finished streaming this on Spotify. Certainly more polished than the last, which isn't hard to accomplish as I felt that one was overly lo-fi at times. No immediate stand-outs but it was pleasant. I'm sure a few songs will stand out for me with repeat listens, but I get the feeling it's not an album I'm going to fall in love with.
  17. Haha yeah not a big deal of course compared to the sound quality - which was my first concern but from what I've read they sound good. Just an observation as a long-time fan of the album.
  18. I contemplated buying one of the new issues of the blue album yesterday, having not owned it since the CD I bought in '94. The quality of the artwork made me reluctant, though. The blue seemed darker, the humans kind of pixelated and not so crisp. Could be just because I never examined it that closely in a larger format than CD, could be that the quality of the artwork isn't on par with the original or other issues. Can anyone provide any insight? I remember the cover being a slightly brighter blue, closer to true cyan.
  19. As luck would have it, I found a used copy of 60 Cycle Hum after work today!
  20. I pulled the trigger on a few I've been wanting for a while, after comparing prices on Discogs. Only the first was a bit more than original, but going for the same price on Discogs. Band of Horses - Everything All the Time The Shins - Chutes Too Narrow The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
  21. I always felt these guys were overhyped - I should like them more, but for some reason never did. Nonetheless, I'll check this out when it's released in hopes that I like them more.
